Ethereum ETF is catching up. This week, spot ETH funds attracted US$713 million, close to the US$884 million attracted by spot Bitcoin ETFs during the same period, narrowing the long-standing dominance gap of Bitcoin.
Ethereum ETF inflows hit US$713 million this week
Spot Ethereum ETF recorded a weekly net inflow of US$713 million, a figure that indicates strong and continued demand for regulated ETH exposure.
This round of capital inflows is entirely the story of Ethereum. Investors are injecting new capital into ETH products at a rate that keeps the asset at the center of institutional discussions rather than on the margins.
Bitcoin is still leading, but the weekly gap is narrowing
Bitcoin is still a bigger magnet. Spot BTC ETF attracted $884 million this week, ahead of Ethereum's total. But the gap is small. The total difference between the two is about US$171 million, which is small for products that have historically had a much wider gap.
Bitcoin's ETF machine has been running hot for months, with net inflows into spot funds reaching billions of dollars in recent weeks. Ethereum's approach to this speed is a noteworthy change.
Why is it important to narrow the gap between Ethereum and Bitcoin?
Relative capital flow intensity is an indicator of sentiment. When ETH inflows approach Bitcoin, they indicate that institutions are willing to spread bets beyond the largest asset in the market, rather than just pouring into it.
This positioning can have a chain reaction. Infrastructure is also expanding, with companies such as Galaxy opening cryptocurrency-backed credit lines for Bitcoin, Ethereum and Solana, and issuers are also improving the ETF mechanism as BlackRock reportedly cut its Bitcoin ETF swap minimum.
Weeks are important because they shape the narrative. A single week rarely reverses trends, but the $713 million figure is so close to Bitcoin that it strengthens the view that Ethereum is gaining a larger share of the attention of institutions.
So the question naturally arises: Will the Ethereum ETF flow stop catching up with Bitcoin this week and start to match it?
