XRP College sports become an unexpected frontier in cryptocurrency adoption
Ripple is embedding the XRP brand into some of the most recognizable sports in the United States. The Florida Gators announced a multi-year partnership with Ripple on September 4, 2026.
Under the agreement, starting from the 2026 Florida football season, the XRP logo will appear at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium. The XRP logo will be prominently displayed on the stadium itself.

University of Florida's multi-year deal
This deal goes beyond the stadium branding and includes digital assets, event logos and a long-term commitment to the university. Ripple will also support finance and technology education for Florida student-athletes and campus communities, covering traditional finance and digital assets.
University of Florida Athletic Director Scott Stricklin spoke directly about the importance of the collaboration. "Ripple has established itself as an innovation leader in fintech, and we are pleased to welcome XRP to the Gator Corps."
Second school joins XRP lineup
Florida's deal follows Ripple's partnership with the University of Kansas Athletic Department announced earlier this year. The agreement will print XRP on the jerseys of the Kansas Jayhawks, the first time cryptocurrency has appeared on uniforms at major college sports events. The Kansas deal established Ripple's serious position in the field of college sports sponsorship .
Florida's deal takes a different approach: the XRP logo will appear on the field and accompany digital assets and event logos throughout the sport.
Reaction from the XRP community
Some people in the community responded positively to the news. Many see this as a new way to increase adoption and introduce XRP to the next generation. However, not everyone is convinced.
One commentator caught the attention of a well-known community figure Crypto Bitlord and asked if the price of XRP would increase as a result. After Jayhawks 'announcement, XRP prices fell sharply, drawing criticism from Crypto Bitlord and other community members.
Another community member expressed similar sentiments, saying that despite the numerous new partnerships, there was no reason why XRP could not reach new highs.
The future of XRP
Two high-profile college sports partnerships within a year have made XRP accessible to some of the most enthusiastic fan groups in American sports. At Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, tens of thousands of spectators usually enter on game days.
The announcement also revealed that Ripple holds more than 85 licenses worldwide. It highlights the company's MiCA authorization in the European Union, as well as the speed and low-cost characteristics of XRP Ledger. The troubling question is whether these partnerships will lead to higher prices or adoption rates.
