Cosmos Hub resumes block production
QuickNode released an update at 18:12 UTC on September 8, 2026, stating that the Cosmos main network appears to have stalled at altitude 32,878,318. This timestamp reflects the time when the problem was reported, rather than the time when the stall started as an independent measurement.
QuickNode stated that its node was restored and re-synchronized to the chain tip at 14:26 UTC on September 9, 2026. Subsequently, after communicating directly with Cosmos Labs, QuickNode marked its own event as resolved at 00:24 UTC on September 12, 2026. Independent Chain data confirms that network progress far exceeds the reported stagnation. The latest block height of the network cosmohub-4 returned by Cosmos Hub RPC is 32,954,748, the block time is 2026-09- 13T18:35: 36Z, and the catching_up flag displays false.
Limitations of block production restart
The above-mentioned provider's timestamps only describe node recovery and event shutdown, and are not accurate and independently verified network restart times. Simply resuming block production does not establish that wallet-oriented functionality has been fully restored, and there is currently no post-mortem analysis report detailing the technical root causes of the stagnation.
Ledger Wallet ATOM balance and transfer problems persist
Ledger issued a Cosmos main network service interruption notice at 19:41 CEST time on September 8, 2026, warning users not to send transactions, add accounts, or view balances and transaction history. Ledger stated in an update at 16:12 CEST time on September 10 that ATOM balances and transaction history are still not available in Ledger Wallet. As of September 13 when the page was crawled, the notice was still open and Cosmos was still marked as a major failure. The disclosed notice did not provide recovery estimates or technical root causes.
The same notice states that the transaction feature is still not available, meaning that affected users cannot send ATOM via their wallets. The available evidence does not specify whether the transfer failed during the signature, broadcast or on-chain confirmation stage, nor does it provide a basis to link wallet restrictions to network outages.
An unconfirmed report attributed by CryptoSlate on 9 to Ledger's emergency access guide states that Kepr and Cosmostation are listed as compatible alternatives; however, these guide pages are not directly verified in this report.
Things that still need to be confirmed for ATOM wallet recovery
Notifications obtained by Ledger link users with urgent transaction needs to alternative methods, but do not provide solution estimates. The affected wallet interface, specific balance symptoms and transfer failure points remain outstanding issues. Normal balance visibility and successful transfers through affected interfaces are two separate recovery milestones, each requiring separate confirmation. The next thing worth watching is Ledger's status page for a resolution timestamp or root-cause statement, as the Cosmos component was still marked as a critical failure at the time of the last inspection.
