ZEC Zcash (ZEC) Prices Soars: Voting results for NU7 upgrade announced
Zcash (ZEC) recorded a significant price increase, soaring to US$1,388 after holders finalized their decision to the next major upgrade of the agreement, namely NU7. The current trading price of ZEC is US$1,368, a daily increase of 10.9%, and the cumulative increase in the past 30 days has reached 168%. According to CoinGecko data, this privacy-focused cryptocurrency currently ranks ninth in market value, with a total valuation of US$22.9 billion.

The upgrade process revolves around a five-question survey of qualified ZEC holders. The voting participation rate reached 66%, and a total of 2.4 million ZECs participated in the voting, setting a record high. Eligibility to vote is based on the expendable shield ZEC stored in the Ironwood pool at the block height of 3,459,350 (recorded on August 24). Each blocked token corresponds to one vote.
The voting mechanism uses encrypted ballots and splits them into 16 non-connectable fragments. This cryptographic approach ensures that summary results can be counted without associating votes with the identity of individual holders or disclosing the amount of any participant's position.
