Analysts point out that as the popularity of the gold market reaches its peak, funds are gradually shifting from traditional safe-haven assets to digital gold—Bitcoin (BTC). Data shows that global inflows into gold ETFs have slowed down, while institutional holdings and trading volume in Bitcoin have increased simultaneously, indicating that market sentiment is shifting towards crypto assets. It is widely believed that this could signal the beginning of another bull market for Bitcoin. Especially with the support of monetary easing policies and increased institutional investment, BTC is expected to become a new focus of the market.

Market analyst João Wedson said that over the past week, Bitcoin’s performance has quietly surpassed that of gold, with its value increasing by more than 8% compared to gold. In a recent X post, Wedson warned that the upward phase of gold prices might be coming to an end, and that “smart money will quietly shift to risk assets and start selling gold.”
He noted that there has been a surge in demand for physical gold worldwide, from individual investors to central banks. This indicates a growing market, which typically signals that gold prices will reach their peak later on. At the same time, Bitcoin prices remain relatively low. For investors looking for asymmetric growth opportunities, Bitcoin is a attractive hedge tool. “Many people shouldn’t ignore our signals,” wrote Wedson. “Gold has proven its value, but strategic trading and accumulation at the right time can be a way to stay ahead of the market.”

Weddson's analysis reflects the growing sentiment in the cryptocurrency community, which suggests that Bitcoin is once again becoming the preferred asset for investors with a high tolerance for risk. The ratio of BTC to gold has been steadily rising since early October, and this pattern occurred last time during the significant increase in Bitcoin prices in 2020 and 2021.
The dominance of BTC in the data indicates a bull market from 2025 to 2026.
Another respected analyst, Dark Defender, shares a different view. He believes that the cryptocurrency market may be entering the early stages of another major bull market cycle. His chart shows that every significant increase over the past decade occurred after a sharp decline in Bitcoin’s dominance (BTC.D, measuring Bitcoin’s share of the entire cryptocurrency market).
● Overview of the 2025-2026 bull market:
We experience bull markets whenever #BTCDOMINANCE experiences a drop. This happened in both 2017 and 2021.
It’s time for the next one.
I know fear is everywhere, but please wait a moment and check out the data below.

According to Defender, the patterns that existed before the bull markets in 2017 and 2021 are starting to reappear. “Every time Bitcoin’s dominance declines, we experience a bull market,” he explained. “It’s time to embrace the next bull market.” The chart he provided shows that the RSI (Relative Strength Index) is close to oversold territory, indicating that market momentum may soon shift from Bitcoin to altcoins. Historically, this has often been a precursor to broader market rebounds.
“Fear is everywhere,” added Defender. “But don’t rush into anything yet. Let’s take a look at the data first. Enjoy the process.”
Bottom line: Rotation is ongoing.
Both Wedson and Dark Defender reached the same conclusion: the next major trend might involve Bitcoin. As the popularity of gold reaches its peak, Bitcoin’s dominance approaches a turning point. Experienced investors seem to be preparing for a cycle between 2025 and 2026, a period that could see another explosive rebound from the past.
Whether this proves to be another multi-year upward trend or a shorter-term rotation, analysts’ message is clear: when people chase gold, the momentum for the next chapter in the market may already be building within Bitcoin.
