According to Levi, the development team responded quickly to this threat. On September 21, 2026, the Veria AI system developed by Veria Labs detected this security issue. Researchers reported this discovery through the XRP Ledger vulnerability bounty program.
To prevent potential exploitation, the development team released an emergency update, xrpld 3.4.1, on September 25 to fix this flaw. Since disclosing detailed information could increase the risk of abuse, this update bypassed the usual approval process.
This update also fixed another independent bug related to the ledger batch processing system. Security engineers from RippleX confirmed that this vulnerability could indeed create unauthorized XRP, and they ensured that these fraudulent tokens could be spent.
