BTC Canaan, a Bitcoin mining and hardware manufacturer, has partnered with other companies to develop sustainable Bitcoin mining platforms. As the industry strives for sustainable ways to meet its power demands, Canaan has also increased its focus on green energy technologies.
On Monday, Canaan announced that it would collaborate with green energy developer SynVista Energy to create mining equipment equipped with AI-driven scheduling capabilities, thereby ensuring that energy supply is aligned with dynamic hash rate requirements.
According to Canaan, the goal is to maximize the use of clean energy without compromising grid stability.
Canaan stated that this initiative will help transform “green mining from isolated pilot projects into replicable engineering solutions,” providing a “cost-effective and regulatory-compliant solution” for the industry.
The company added that while renewable energy penetration rates are high, energy fluctuations are increasing, leading to higher risks of power shortages. Traditional approaches struggle to convert excess electricity into meaningful revenue.
The Bitcoin mining industry has long been criticized for its high energy consumption. Some estimates suggest that Bitcoin’s energy consumption is comparable to that of medium-sized countries like Poland or Thailand.
However, proponents of Bitcoin believe that Bitcoin mining can contribute to grid stability while reducing the burden on AI data centers.
Canaan and SynVista are also working on tokenizing RWA.

Canaan倾向于使用可再生能源进行比特币挖矿
这并非Canaan首次尝试利用可再生能源为比特币挖矿提供动力。根据该公司10月份的挖矿动态，该公司于10月份在加拿大启动了一项“天然气制能”试点项目，将闲置的天然气转化为比特币挖矿所需的能源。
与此同时，9月份，这家矿业公司与Soluna Holdings(一家运营可再生能源数据中心的公司)签署了一项协议，将在德克萨斯州的一个风力发电数据中心部署矿机。
