HIVE's daily revenue exceeds one million dollars, coming from mining and AI cloud services

HIVE Digital Technologies 'daily revenue exceeded the million-dollar mark

Canadian-based Bitcoin miner and data center operator HIVE Digital Technologies (NASDAQ: HIVE, also traded on the Toronto Stock Exchange) announced that its daily revenue exceeded US$1 million on August 21. Based on preliminary and unaudited management estimates, this is the first time that the company's bitcoin mining business and GPU cloud service revenue have combined to reach this milestone level.

Since that date, the company has produced approximately 12 bitcoins per day, accounting for approximately 2% of the total global bitcoin network production. At the same time, its GPU cloud business operated through its wholly-owned subsidiary BUZZ HPC-a sovereign AI cloud and high-performance computing service provider-achieved average daily revenue of approximately $100,000 during the same period.

Dual engine parallel drive growth

Bitcoin mining constitutes the main source of HIVE's daily revenue. The company uses computing power to process transactions on the Bitcoin network and uses it to obtain newly minted bitcoins as a reward. On the other hand, BUZZ HPC is building an independent recurring revenue stream to sell GPU-based computing infrastructure access to corporate, government and research institution customers through long-term contracts.

As of the beginning of this year, BUZZ HPC has reached a total contract value of more than US$600 million in GPU cloud transactions, including three-year and five-year agreements with creditworthy counterparties, and its demand pipeline has exceeded US$1 billion.

Strategic transformation: tilt from mining to AI applications

HIVE also announced plans to scale back its bitcoin mining operations at its Swedish facilities. In August, this part of the business accounted for less than 5% of global daily revenue. Currently, the company is evaluating redeploying this infrastructure to higher-value high-performance computing (HPC) and artificial intelligence (AI) application scenarios.

This shift marks that HIVE is redistributing energy resources. Although mining is still a major revenue contributor, the company's contracted AI cloud revenue is gradually becoming a core driver of its long-term growth.
