XRP Dogecoin leads the decline in mainstream cryptocurrencies, macro pressure intensifies market sell-off
On Wednesday, Dogecoin was among the top losers among the major cryptocurrencies, with its price falling about 7% to move closer to US$0.089. The correction was affected by broader risk aversion, with Bitcoin, Ethereum and Ripple (XRP) not immune.
At present, this decline is not driven by major news unique to Dogecoin. On the contrary, dogcoin amplified the selling wave in the entire market. As oil prices rise, U.S. Treasury yields rise and the US dollar strengthens, the financial environment for speculative assets is tightening.
During this period, Bitcoin once fell below the US$84,000 mark, Ethereum fell by about 4%, and Ripple fell by more than 3%. In contrast, Dogecoin fell significantly faster, further confirming its market characteristics as a "high beta" version of large-market crypto assets.

The macro background is rapidly deteriorating. Brent crude prices climbed above $100 a barrel as new attacks on tankers exacerbated concerns about supply disruptions in the Middle East. At the same time, the 10-year U.S. Treasury yield exceeded 5.3%, while the U.S. dollar index stood firm above 102 points.
Higher yields make interest-bearing assets more competitive than cryptocurrencies, and a stronger U.S. dollar usually leads to tightening global financial conditions. In addition, rising oil prices have raised concerns about inflation and could limit the central bank's room for rapid easing of monetary policy.
