Circle announced that USDC and EURC will soon connect to Nu Global's multi-currency digital account.
Circle officially stated that its two stablecoins-USDC and EURC-will soon connect to Nu Global. Nu Global is a multi-currency digital account product launched by Nu on September 10, 2026. The announcement clearly uses the phrase "phased release" rather than immediately opening all features to the company's more than 140 million users.
Nu officially introduced Nu Global in the announcement that day, aiming to meet the needs of people with an international lifestyle. The account converts deposits to digital U.S. dollars (USDC) or digital euros (EURC), anchoring the U.S. dollar and euro exchange rates respectively. Circle emphasized that assets are "arriving" but are not yet fully available to all users.
Dual stablecoins support simultaneously, and non-single integration
announcement clearly mentions USDC and EURC assets, which indicates that this cooperation is not only for unilateral integration of USDC. Both parties were treated equally and assigned specific role positions:
- USDC revenue: Nu pointed out in its announcement on September 10, 2026 that the USDC balance in Nu Global provides an annualized rate of return (APY) of 3.50% and is paid out in the form of daily income. It should be noted that this is the specific interest rate of Nu Global products, not the inherent yield of the stablecoin itself.
- EURC Revenue: Meanwhile, the EURC balance in Nu Global provides an annualized rate of return (APY) of 2.20%. Similarly, this belongs to product-level interest rate setting, not an intrinsic attribute of EURC.
Although the two assets are mentioned side by side, this does not mean that they will be available at the same time or provide exactly the same functionality. Nu describes Nu Global paired with a virtual Mastercard for spending at competitive exchange rates without surcharges and supporting a select portfolio of digital assets including Bitcoin and Ethereum. As of the time of writing, based on market data, USDC prices remain closely around the pegged level of approximately $0.9999, with a market value of approximately $74 billion.
details of rollover to be clarified: phased launch and non-insurance nature
Nu said that customers can send and receive funds quickly and for free in more than 35 countries around the world, initially covering Europe and Latin America. In the coming months, plans are planned to further integrate Brazil, Colombia, Mexico and the United States. As a result, the current announcement does not establish simultaneous comprehensive availability on a global scale.
Details about release timing, qualifying user qualifications, geographical availability, and supporting features have not yet been fully determined. Nu said that new products will be released one after another starting from September 10, 2026, and users can register and queue up through nu.com. This is a queue rollout rather than a door open to everyone.
Readers should not assume that these two assets can be purchased, deposited, withdrawn or transferred through Nu Global today. Although secondary reports suggested that all 140 million Nu customers would be given access, this claim was unconfirmed;Nu disclosed the group's overall customer number and phased release strategy, not the 140 million Nu Global active users.
In addition, it is necessary to distinguish product boundaries. Nu described its launch in the U.S. market using a "cooperative bank" model, served by Lead Bank, an FDIC member, and subject to the OCC (Office of the Comptroller of the Currency) conditional charter approval obtained in January 2026. This bank and deposit insurance-related language applies to U.S. Nu accounts and should not be interpreted as insurance coverage of USDC or EURC balances in Nu Global.
Market Outlook
Look at multiple perspectives: The logic is simple and clear. A platform with a large customer base is expected to expand the use of daily stablecoins if it can embed regulated euro and US dollar stablecoins into cross-border transfer services. This is also in line with other companies racing to embed such assets, such as Circle's previous agreement to buy payments company Tazapay.
Bear view: is equally specific. Due to the lack of specific rollover plans, hosting plans, network details and qualification restrictions, the currently announced yield and protection scope are still only promotional statements, and their authenticity needs to be verified until the actual access rights actually reach the user. Missing details in existing material do not prove Circle or Nu withheld information elsewhere.
