Polygon Labs incorporates TRON support into the Open Money Stack, connecting more than US$94 billion in USDT to the U.S. licensed banking system
On October 7, Polygon Labs announced that it will add support for the TRON network in the Open Money Stack, connecting more than US$94 billion in USDT (TEDA) circulating on the network to U.S. licensed banking channels through a single integration. This expansion allows financial technology companies, money transfer providers and payment platforms to convert U.S. dollars into USDT (TRC-20) and withdraw cash directly to bank accounts without the need to separately integrate complex links such as licenses, sponsoring banks, wallet providers and cross-chain routing.
Users can recharge through bank transfer, debit card or retail counter cash, receive USDT to TRON wallet, and later settle and withdraw cash through bank account.
TRON Integrated Coverage
This update extends three core parts of the Open Money Stack to the TRON network:
- compliant Dollar Access: Implemented through Polygon Ramps, the service leverages money carrier licenses and compliance infrastructure to cover 48 U.S. states.
- Programmable account management: Enterprises can create and manage TRON wallets.
- Cross-link consists of: USDT can be routed between TRON and an EVM-enabled network such as Polygon Chain in a single transaction flow.
Why TRON's stablecoin liquidity is crucial
According to the announcement, TRON has long been the dominant blockchain of USDT, supporting more than US$94 billion in circulation supply, with a total transfer transaction volume exceeding US$30 trillion. TRON DAO pointed out that as of October 2026, the network hosted the largest USDT in circulation, with more than 407 million user accounts, and a total lock-in value (TVL) of more than $28 billion. At the same time, Polygon said it had processed more than $3 trillion in payment transactions as of September 21.
Marc Boiron, CEO of Polygon Labs, said in a statement: "Joining TRON brings the deepest USDT liquidity pool into the same integrated system, allowing companies to move funds to Bank of America channels or across chains with underlying licensing and orchestration mechanisms in place."
TRON founder Sun Yuchen said the move "makes it easier for companies to build payment products and break down barriers between on-chain liquidity and traditional financial channels."
Future Outlook
This release is the first phase of Open Money Stack's support for TRON, and it is expected that more asset, market and payment functions will be launched in the future. It should be noted that this integration does not exempt the payment company from its licenses or regulatory obligations, but rather integrates segments of the payment process that were originally handled by different providers.
Polygon Labs, through its ongoing Coinme acquisition and Sequence acquisition, is beginning to assemble this technology stack to combine licensed U.S. fiat access capabilities with enterprise-class wallet infrastructure.
