据CryptoPotato报道，全球最大稳定币发行商Tether已与哈萨克斯坦国家银行（National Bank of Kazakhstan）签署谅解备忘录（MoU），旨在共同探索开发一种与哈萨克斯坦坚戈（KZT）挂钩的稳定币。这一协议标志着中亚地区迈向由国家货币支持的数字资产迈出了正式一步，但目前尚未公布具体的上线日期或产品条款。
探索性协议而非立即发行
该谅解备忘录将全球最大的稳定币发行商与哈萨克斯坦的中央货币当局联系起来，双方将共同研究以坚戈计价的稳定币的可行性。需要注意的是，谅解备忘录属于非约束性框架，意味着双方仅同意共同调查这一概念，而非承诺立即发行代币。其具体设计、技术支撑、合规架构以及任何部署时间表，仍需通过双方的联合探索来确定。
Tether一直在将其机构影响力扩展至旗舰产品USDT之外。此次哈萨克斯坦项目延续了该公司直接与主权级别对手方合作的模式，此前该公司还与Fasanara合作设立了4亿美元的私募信贷基金，且其CEO已确认持有农业公司Adecogagro 70%的股份。
坚戈稳定币可能带来的影响
If a stablecoin linked to Tenge is launched, it will provide Kazakhstan with a programmable form of national digital currency, which is expected to achieve faster domestic payments, cross-border settlements, and tokenized financial activities. The participation of the National Bank of Kazakhstan suggests that any resulting product will be placed within the country's regulated financial infrastructure rather than operated as a stand-alone crypto asset.
Tether's compliance stance in other regions provides background for this: the company has shown a willingness to cooperate with official requests, such as freezing $550 million in Iran-related USDT funds during U.S. enforcement operations. Regulators in other markets have taken similar exploratory steps, such as Thailand's Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) recommending stablecoin wallet transfer rules.
Future Focus
The next key signal will be whether the two parties will move from the memorandum of understanding stage to a formal pilot or proof-of-concept announcement. Official updates are expected to be released through the public communication channels of the National Bank of Kazakhstan and Tether's news channel. Before the pilot plan is confirmed, the Tenge stablecoin is still in the exploratory stage and is not a product to be launched soon.
