Samsung Wallet
Bastion is a licensed digital asset custodian headquartered in the United States that focuses on the secure storage and management of stablecoins.
Woncheol Chai, executive vice president and head of the digital wallet team at Samsung Electronics, said: "Sending money overseas should be as convenient as using your mobile phone to bring your wallet." He added that eligible users can access the service without installing additional applications or managing private keys.
Deepen partnership with Coinbase
The newly launched service marks a further expansion of Samsung's cooperation with Coinbase, the leading U.S. cryptocurrency exchange and custody provider. Under this cooperation structure, Coinbase Prime is responsible for hosting USDC in Samsung Wallet to ensure the security and compliance of user assets.
Alec Lovett, product leader of infrastructure at Coinbase, described the launch of the service as an important milestone for the USDC distribution channel, emphasizing Samsung's vast device reach and its potential to promote stablecoins in daily scenarios.
Lily Liu, president of the Solana Foundation, pointed out that this feature has incorporated "digital dollars" into the daily lives of millions of users. She emphasized that with the widespread adoption of stablecoins, they will become a routine means of daily capital flows, rather than just a cryptocurrency product.
