OpenAI releases GPT-6 intelligent interface: ChatGPT welcomes a new interactive experience

On Wednesday, OpenAI began launching a GPT-6 version equipped with "Intelligent UI". This update allows ChatGPT to go beyond simple text replies to provide a richer interactive experience to more than 1.2 billion users every week through charts, buttons and actionable tools.

Core Highlights and Distribution Strategies

The GPT-6 smart interface was officially opened to paying users on Wednesday, and free users and Go plan users are expected to receive updates on Thursday. The model combines text with graphics, forms, and small tools, but in suitable scenarios, text-only answers are still the dominant form.

Although early reports pointed out that interactive answers could consume users 'Tokens faster and increase the risk of errors, OpenAI announced the release plan in a blog post. The company says GPT-6 is trained to combine the best answers from text, visual elements and interactive components based on the characteristics of each question. Responses can now contain graphics, clickable buttons, forms and charts.

When plain text is more appropriate, the system will still provide text answers. In addition, users can directly request specific tools such as bill apportioners, retirement savings calculators or mini games.

Layered deployment and functional demonstration

Paying subscribers receive priority access. On the Chat tab, users with Plus, Pro, Business and Enterprise plans use the GPT-6 Sol model; while users with Free and Go plans use the GPT-6 Luna model.

In a demonstration, ChatGPT disassembled a 7-speed bicycle into five clearly marked subsystems, including the frame, transmission system and brakes. Users can click on these parts to learn more. Another demonstration planned a Sunday roast mutton meal, showing pictures of each dish, a cooking timeline and a guest counter-the shopping list is automatically recalculated when the number of people changes.

OpenAI said the model utilizes a library of pre-built components that run across web and mobile, and uses the compiler to gradually show each interface, rather than waiting for the complete answer to be generated before presenting it all at once.

Potential risks and challenges

This interaction is not the first. Google introduced a generative interface when it launched the Gemini 3 model last year. Early evaluations pointed out that although this feature of OpenAI attracted a lot of attention in the early stages of release, it did not give it a clear advantage in differentiated competition with rival AI laboratories. At the same time, the evaluation also warned that interactive answers may accelerate the consumption of users 'Token quotas, and that visual elements also provide new space for the model's "illusion" phenomenon.

Release schedule and future outlook

OpenAI acknowledges that there is still room for improvement in model design judgment capabilities. The company describes this feature as an important step towards adaptive software and says GPT-6 Instant answers web search questions on average 44% faster than GPT-5.6 Instant.

This release marks the completion of the GPT-6 batch launch plan. On September 3, OpenAI opened its flagship model, GPT-6 Astra, to a limited number of institutions; subsequently on September 22, smaller Sol and Luna models were added to Work, Codex and developer communities. On October 5, the company announced that it will test a visual advertising format for Free and Go users in the United States later this month that displays tagged ads during image generation.
