The shift in capital flows: From chasing high yields to examining the underlying logic

The way capital flows in the market is undergoing profound changes, especially in the cryptocurrency space. The focus of investment is no longer simply chasing the highest annualized rate of return (APY), but is more focused on the actual source of income. This transformation is already beginning to emerge in the on-chain market. As more assets and strategies migrate onto the chain, the market structure becomes increasingly complex.

For example, the size of tokenized real-world assets (RWAs) has reached nearly US$40 billion, achieving a 10-fold growth in more than two years; and the total market value of stablecoins has also exceeded the US$300 billion mark. Infrastructure is becoming more sophisticated as institutional capital gradually moves into areas such as interest-bearing stablecoins, tokenized real-world assets, on-chain credit, and market-neutral strategies. Investors not only care about the annualized rate of return, but also pay attention to the construction of income opportunities, safety and the controllability of capital flows.

Shyft: Restructuring the transparency and efficiency of revenue management along the chain

Brandon Reid, director of business development at Shyft, points out that for institutional investors,"the current focus is on the source of revenue, how to independently verify revenue, and what happens in extreme market fluctuations."

The Shyft platform was built to respond to this shift. It aims to help investors move beyond the single question of "how much return a strategy can bring" to a deeper understanding of its underlying mechanisms, risk exposures and reported data. As an income management platform, Shyft provides investors with professionally screened on-chain strategic access covering crypto assets, real estate, gold and structured income through Self-Custodial Vaults.

This model lowers the threshold for participation, making strategies that previously required high minimum investment amounts, personal relationship networks, and complex access processes easier to obtain, compare and verify, benefiting all types of investors. In addition, Shyft does not allow users to piece together their own positions in different agreements, but instead integrates multiple strategies into a unified fund allocation framework.

Core products: shCORE and shYIELD two-wheel drives

Currently, Shyft mainly serves retail users, and is also laying out the institutional side of the revenue market on the chain. Its first two vaults, shCORE and shYIELD, do not rely on a single agreement or revenue source, but integrate diversified revenue sources through a structured portfolio:

  • shYIELD: A performance-oriented multi-yield, high-target return strategy. The strategy combines high-frequency basis trading, private equity credit, and selected DeFi opportunities, with specific configurations including Radiant Prime, Maple's syrupUSDC, and Gauntlet USD Alpha.
  • shCORE: Take a more balanced approach to achieve stable and diversified returns by combining U.S. Treasurys and controlled basis trading exposure. Its configuration involves Radiant Prime, Ondo USDY, and Sky's sUSDS.

In addition, a new product that combines cross-chain pledges, diversified real-world asset exposure and core single asset income strategies is also under development. These vaults eliminate the cumbersome need for investors to navigate each agreement, strategy and risk one by one, and Shyft unifies them within a single framework, providing a more structured way to allocate funds while maintaining transparency in the deployment of funds along the chain.

Technical Architecture and Security Compliance

The underlying infrastructure of these vaults is supported by Ember Protocol and covers access to cryptographic assets, real estate, gold and structured revenue. Shyft's treasury framework adopts the ERC-4626 standard and includes security measures such as multi-role authorization, extraction control, emergency time locks, concentration limits, automatic rebalancing and a circuit breaker mechanism.

In order to mitigate the risks related to fund management on the chain, the platform has implemented smart contract audit and strictly controlled it at multiple levels such as unit testing, integration testing, fuzzy testing and invariant testing. At the same time, leveraging Accountable, RedStone and Chainlink's Proof of Reserve (PoR) technology to provide full transparency for non-exchange positions. This means that the allocator does not have to trust the manager's performance report, but can actually check and verify its performance.

Strategic cooperation to promote globalization

To bring shCORE and shYIELD to market, Shyft entered into a partnership with GAP3 Partners. GAP3 is a virtual asset investment consultant with a VARA license and serves as its co-curator. GAP3 provides research, analysis and recommendations for treasury strategies and adds an external investment advisory layer to Shyft's strategy selection process.

In addition, Shyft has hired the Abu Dhabi Blockchain Center as a member of its Strategic Global Council. The company announced on the X platform that the move aims to "pool policy, institutional and treasury curatorial expertise to accelerate Shyft's global expansion." The government-affiliated agency is committed to advancing digital asset initiatives in one of the world's most ambitious markets where it is located by "connecting innovators with regulators and institutional capital."

Reid said the partnership is aimed at helping the platform "establish the right institutional relationships in the United Arab Emirates."

Vision: Create a transparent and efficient on-chain investment ecosystem

By targeting institutional configurations, regional partnerships, and more treasury products, Shyft hopes to expand from an initial small-scale treasury collection to a broader platform for allocating funds between native crypto assets and real-world financial opportunities. Its core mission is to enable the selection, combination, monitoring and accessibility of multiple revenue sources through a framework based on a structured treasury, thereby making the allocation of funds on the chain more fragmented and more transparent.

Reid concluded: "On-chain gains are evolving into a broader investment ecosystem, which means the next chapter in digital assets will be creating frameworks that allow investors to access strategies in a more structured, transparent and efficient way."

As on-chain finance continues to move towards larger and more complex pools of money, Shyft is focused on bridging the gap between strategies and investors eager to access them, allowing investors to gain easy-to-understand, verifiable, and easy-to-access revenue opportunities within an assessable framework without having to deal with complex underlying infrastructure.
