Samsung Wallet adds Solana USDC transfer function to 82 million Galaxy devices

The Samsung Foundation said on Wednesday that starting from the last week of October, Samsung Wallet users in the U.S. will be able to send cross-border payments denominated in the U.S. dollar stablecoin USDC directly through the built-in Solana network. This feature has been deeply integrated into Samsung Wallet and Samsung Pay.

This feature launch will cover 82 million Galaxy devices in the U.S. market. Samsung and the Solana Foundation plan to subsequently expand to more markets in accordance with local regulatory requirements.

This feature is integrated into the existing Samsung Wallet app rather than a separate application, so users can complete the transfer of funds in the same interface used to store bank cards, boarding passes and ID cards. According to official news, the system's built-in fiat currency deposit and withdrawal channel can convert funds into local currency, while Solana's infrastructure provides support in the background.

Chai pointed out that stablecoins are expected to allow Galaxy users to send funds overseas more quickly without the need for traditional encryption tools.
