Stable coin giant Tether completes the largest USDT destruction in recent months! details published

Tether destroyed 2.5 billion USDTs on the Ethereum network, one of the largest reductions in stablecoin supply in recent months. According to CryptoQuant, this is the highest amount of Ethereum USDTs destroyed in a single day since 3.5 billion USDTs were destroyed on February 10.

Another noteworthy change in the market is that the USDT balance entering and exiting Binance through the wavefield network has dropped significantly. Data shows that the USDT balance flowing through the Binambo channel has dropped to approximately US$860 million. This level is the lowest since hitting a low of $391 million on December 29, 2025, and the first time in a long time that the balance has fallen below $1 billion.

Analysts pointed out that Tether\'s massive destruction on Ethereum should not be interpreted as a direct signal that the market is heading. Such operations are usually carried out by stablecoin issuers for purposes such as investor redemption, fund management, reserve optimization or cross-chain liquidity balancing. Therefore, destroying data alone may not predict the expected rise or fall in the market.

However, there is a view that the reduction in USDT supply on Ethereum and the simultaneous contraction of USDT liquidity in the Binamwave channel should be considered comprehensively. Experts said that the simultaneous occurrence of these two events may send important signals, especially regarding stablecoin flows at the exchange level and cross-chain liquidity distribution.

In the cryptocurrency market, the movements of stablecoins have attracted much attention because they provide important clues about investor behavior, exchange liquidity and overall risk appetite. These recent developments involving Tether have also attracted the attention of market participants.
