BNB Chain builds a new Layer 1 for AI transaction agents, aiming to launch on the main network in 20

BNB Chain discloses: It is building a dedicated Layer 1 blockchain for the on-chain proxy activity boom

BNB Chain disclosed today that with the announcement that it is developing a stand-alone Layer 1 blockchain optimized for autonomous trading agents, the network has begun to build an infrastructure stack for the upcoming on-chain proxy activity boom.

According to its technology roadmap for the second half of 2026, the blockchain network associated with Binance stated that the test network is expected to be publicly launched by the end of 2026, and the main network is planned to be launched in early 2027.

Building on the existing BNB Intelligent Chain (BSC), opBNB and Greenfield, BNB Chain positions this fourth chain as a solution to handle workloads that the old chain cannot carry, rather than replacing the existing US$8.4 billion DeFi ecosystem on BSC (data from DeFiLlama).

Dispersing BSC liquidity to new chains is a real possibility that the technical team is planning to respond in advance. According to the project\'s chief technology officer, the plan is to connect the new chain to the BSC through an official native bridge. This setup will maintain BNB as a shared asset for all four chains in its stack, and BSC will remain a clearing center.

What is the target performance of BNB Chain\'s new proxy network?

Although the chain has not yet entered the testnet stage, BNB Chain has set an ambitious performance benchmark:

It processes more than 100,000 transactions per second.
The final confirmation time of the block is less than 1 second.
The transaction pre-confirmation time is less than 50 milliseconds.

The project relies on collaboratively optimized consensus mechanisms, parallel execution, and LtHash-based storage to achieve the throughput goals mentioned in the official blog. BNB Chain did not directly compare the performance of the new network with the speed of a centralized exchange with microsecond settlement as the norm, but believed that a pre-confirmation time of less than 50 milliseconds was in line with users \'expectations for the exchange.

What are the functions of TxStream and PriorityLane on the BNB Chain proxy network?

Two other features mentioned in the trading function description are TxStream and PriorityLane.

David Z, chief technology officer of BNB Chain, described that TxStream closes a window of time that attackers can use to launch sandwich attacks because transaction sequencing is locked before anyone knows a transaction exists. Z said: \"TxStream does not eliminate MEV, nothing can. But it makes the main attack impractical by design.\"

TxStream removes the public memory pool and routes transactions directly to block leaders. Z also mentioned that once rankings become publicly auditable, violators may lose their pledge and reputation.

PriorityLane reserves block space for high-priority, time-sensitive traffic such as oracle, clearing, and bridging.

Agency business popularity remains unchanged despite start-up delays

BNB Chain\'s new chain announcement is the latest product on the agency tool production line. Earlier this month (July 1), the project launched BNB Agent Studio, which allows developers to deploy on-chain AI agents in approximately 15 minutes. The tool is based on the BNBAgent SDK launched on the BSC main network on May 18, 2026.

BNB Chain is not the only one building the infrastructure stack for autonomous agent interactions. Mastercard launched Agent Pay for Machines on June 10, 2026, an autonomous machine-to-machine payment platform supported by more than 30 companies including Coinbase, OKX and Polygon.

In addition, Coinbase has opened Agent.market on its x402 protocol, a store where agents can use stablecoins to discover and pay for web services without API keys.

Solana\'s many teams, including Firedance, Monad and MegaETH, are also working to eliminate bottlenecks at the execution level. However, BNB Chain pointed out that in the first half of 2026, it shortened BSC block intervals to 450 milliseconds and almost doubled benchmark throughput to approximately 5,200 transactions per second, demonstrating its ability to deliver results.
