Aehr Test Systems shares surged more than 13% on Thursday after the company announced it had received additional production orders for its FOX-XP wafer-level burn-in test equipment.

This is the third FOX-XP system sales in 2026, the latest order following the US$14 million transaction in February and additional purchases in March.

The buyer is the company\'s main silicon photonics customer, who has deployed and activated its first system.

The FOX-XP platform is capable of fully automated simultaneous testing of nine 300 mm wafers.

The fourth quarter and full-year results for fiscal year 2026 are scheduled to be announced on July 14, which adds positive impetus to the market.

Aehr Test Systems (AEHR) shares surged more than 13% on Thursday after the semiconductor equipment maker announced a new production order from its main silicon photonics customer. As of noon, the stock was still holding a gain of about 11.75%.

This purchase involves a fully automatic FOX-XP wafer-level burn-in test platform equipped with the FOX WaferPak automatic alignment system. The integrated solution can test up to nine 300 mm wafers simultaneously without any manual intervention.

Customers deploy this device to promote mass production of silicon photonics components for AI optical interconnections and ultra-large data center operations.

This is a duplicate purchase order. The same customer received its first FOX-XP production equipment during Aehr\'s fiscal year 2026, and the company has confirmed that the system has been successfully integrated and put into operation.

CEO Gayn Erickson described the transaction as \"another important milestone\" in continued cooperation with the customer and expressed satisfaction with \"obtaining this follow-on production order early in the new fiscal year.\"

This transaction is also the third purchase order for the FOX-XP wafer-level burn-in test system that Aehr has received in 2026. The first order was finalized in February, valued at US$14 million, followed by another order in March.

Order volume exceeded expectations

In April this year, Aehr disclosed that it received more than US$92 million in orders in the second half of fiscal 2026. This figure significantly exceeded the company\'s previous forecast range of $60 million to $80 million.

Aehr\'s annual revenue is expected to climb from US$49.8 million in 2026 to US$85.1 million in 2027, based on analyst data monitored by Fiscal.ai.

Overall market activity was flat on Thursday. The Nasdaq index rose 0.4%, and the Standard & Poor\'s 500 index rose 0.2%. No industry competitors, including Teradyne and FormFactor, have issued similar announcements, which clearly suggests that AEHR\'s rise is entirely due to its order news.

Earnings release is imminent

The strategic timing disclosed on Thursday has additional significance. Aehr plans to announce its fourth quarter and full year financial results for fiscal 2026 on July 14, just five days later.

This approaching time point is likely to prompt investors to act quickly. On the eve of the earnings report, confirmed production orders from major customers are a good signal for the release of the financial report.

Aehr specializes in manufacturing test and burn-in equipment for semiconductors such as power devices, sensors, memory modules, processors and silicon photonics components. In the continued expansion of AI infrastructure, the FOX-XP system has been the company\'s main revenue driver.

The company pointed out that its customers are designing technologies aimed at increasing data transfer speeds and reducing power consumption for AI processors and high-performance computing architectures.

As of Thursday morning, AEHR\'s share price has risen more than 13% intraday. The third FOX-XP order in 2026 and the upcoming fiscal year results announcement on July 14 have clearly affected investor sentiment.
