Bit Deer Technology invested US$36 million to build a factory in Nevada to introduce SEALMINER Bitcoin Mining Machine production to the United States
Abstract
Bit Deer will invest US$36 million to build a factory in Nevada to produce SEALMINER Bitcoin Mining Machine. The new plant in Sparks is expected to begin commercial production before the end of 2026. Bitfawn shares rose 14.1% as the company reported strengthening U.S. manufacturing strength and dug up 921 bitcoins in May.
According to Bitfawn, the company\'s new plant in Sparks, Nevada will produce key components for its SEALMINER mining machine, and commercial production is scheduled to start before the end of 2026. The company said the plant will enhance its manufacturing capabilities in the U.S. while reducing its reliance on external suppliers of critical mining equipment.
Bit Deer shares responded positively to the news, rising 14.1% to $14.33 on Thursday. Despite the rebound, the stock is still down about 27% from its June high, but has gained about 26% since the start of the year.
Nevada incentives support local manufacturing expansion
Details disclosed by Bitfau show that the Singapore-based company worked with Nevada Governor Joe Lombardo\'s government and local officials to ultimately select Sparks as the project site. According to Bit Deer CEO Guo Mengqing told local media, the state approved tax incentives, including a reduction in eligible sales taxes, as part of an investment plan to support the factory.
Commercial production is expected to start before the end of the year, allowing Bitfau to produce more mining hardware domestically and reduce its reliance on third-party suppliers. The company said the factory will focus on Bitcoin mining equipment rather than artificial intelligence hardware.
Although the new factory has mining machines at its core, Bit Deer has also expanded artificial intelligence cloud computing and high-performance computing services in recent years. According to the company, these operations will be carried out separately from Nevada\'s manufacturing operations.
Bitcoin miners continue to expand AI business
Across the industry, listed bitcoin miners are expanding their investment from cryptocurrency mining to power-intensive computing businesses in search of additional revenue. MARA Holdings announced on Thursday that it plans to acquire a site in Texas that can support up to 2 gigawatts of AI and digital infrastructure project capacity. The company said the expansion will enhance its ability to serve artificial intelligence workloads outside of its existing mining operations.
Earlier this week, TeraWulf announced that it had signed a 20-year data center lease agreement with AI startup Anthropic. According to TeraWulf, the contract could generate approximately US$19 billion in revenue over its lifetime, highlighting mining companies \'growing interest in long-term AI infrastructure transactions.
Although multiple competitors are investing more resources in AI data centers, Bit Deer continues to expand its mining business and supporting infrastructure. The Nevada plant adds manufacturing to this strategy by giving the company better control over its own mining machinery production.
In addition, the latest production data from Bitfau shows that the company dug up 921 bitcoins in May. According to Bitfau, this figure increased by 370% from the same period last year, highlighting the rapid growth of its mining business after adding new infrastructure and equipment.
As Bitcoin production growth is combined with local manufacturing, mining companies continue to adjust their business models to accommodate the latest halving. While many companies seek to diversify their earnings through AI-related contracts, Bitfau\'s latest investment has kept its manufacturing expansion closely centered around its core Bitcoin mining business, while improving its presence in the United States.
