In the week ending Friday, U.S. -listed spot bitcoin exchange-traded funds had a net inflow of $197.4 million, ending an eight-week trend of capital outflows since May.
Data from Farside Investors showed that most of the week's gains came from the BlackRock iShares Bitcoin Trust ETF, which brought in $291.9 million. This increase was offset by outflows from the Gray Scale Bitcoin Trust ETF, Fidelity Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund and the ARK 21 Shares Bitcoin ETF. The end of the capital outflow trend may indicate that institutional demand for Bitcoin is recovering after two months of continued selling pressure. However, one analyst said it was too early to draw conclusions due to outflows from ETFs and stablecoins and seasonal factors in August and September. "A pattern has also emerged in the past few months where Bitcoin performs better in the first half of each month and enters consolidation in the second half," said Markus Thielen, founder and CEO of 10x Research. "In the absence of significant capital inflows and ETF inflows have not actually rebounded, even if Bitcoin rises by more than 9%, we believe resistance will still exist."
The weekly net inflow of $197.4 million is negligible compared to the $8.26 billion that investors have withdrawn since May 11.

Last week, Real Vision chief crypto analyst Jamie Coutts said that Bitcoin may be entering the late stages of a bear market based on preliminary technical signs that selling pressure is easing.
"I think we are coming out of most bear markets. Clearly, the bear market is not over yet. But you know, I think we're at least getting closer to the second half,"Coutts said.
Other analysts believe there may be further downside space in the future.
Russell Thompson, chief investment officer of asset management firm Hilbert Capital, said last week that he believes Bitcoin is still in a downward cycle and may bottom out around October this year.
Ethereum ETF also ended the capital outflow trend
At the same time, the US-listed spot Ethereum ETF also ended an eight-week downward trend, with a net inflow of US$84.42 million in the week ended Friday, led by BlackRock and Fidelity's Ethereum funds.
These inflows pale in comparison to the $1.2 billion net outflow since May 11.
