Arbitrum rebounded strongly in September, with ARB prices doubling

Arbitrum is experiencing one of the strongest September rallies in the cryptocurrency market. As traders reassess the economic value of Robinhood's fast-expanding blockchain, the price of the ARB token more than doubled from its low in late August.

According to market data from MetaMask, the ARB trading price was close to US$0.197 on September 6, an increase of about 49% in 24 hours, up about 127% from the August 30 level. The rally pushed Arbitrum's market value above $1.3 billion, while trading activity accelerated sharply.

The catalyst for this market is becoming increasingly clear: the Robinhood Chain.

The network was launched on July 1 based on Arbitrum technology and created record activity data in early September. According to The Block, this includes $3.75 million in user fees per day and more than $1.5 billion in decentralized exchange (DEX) transaction volume.

Robinhood Chain brings to Arbitrum something that L2 tokens often lack: revenue

The importance of Robinhood Chain lies in the direct licensing relationship between Arbitrum and the chain built based on its technology.

Under the "Arbitrum Expansion Plan", chains like Robinhood Chain that settle outside of Arbitrum One will need to return 10% of net agreement revenue to the Arbitrum ecosystem. The official Arbitrum document states that 8% of this goes to the Arbitrum DAO vault and 2% goes to the Arbitrum Developers Guild.

This distinction is crucial. The millions of dollars in Robinhood Chain "app revenue" or user fees reported recently do not automatically translate into funds flowing to ARB holders or DAOs.

Arbitrum's actual first-half revenue was US$6.19 million, while license fees for the expansion plan contributed approximately US$360,000 in July, accounting for 35% of DAO revenue that month. Although the absolute amount is still small, it marks an important shift in the Arbitrum investment narrative. We have previously discussed the acceleration of Robinhood Chain's revenue and tracked the chain's rapid growth in terms of the Ethereum ecosystem and liquidity.

Indicators Latest Data Significance Robinhood Chain Daily Handling Fee US$3.75 million September 1 set a record for the highest handling fee in a single day, indicating that activities on the chain are accelerating rapidly. Robinhood Chain DEX Trading Volume US$1.5 billion + The trading volume of decentralized exchanges in a single day hit a record high of more than US$1.5 billion. Arbitrum DAO Revenue for the First Half of 2026 US$6.19 million Revenue sources include transaction fees, Timeboost, license fees and treasury returns. Robinhood Chain July Licensing Revenue US$360,000 [TAG 48] accounted for approximately 35% of Arbitrum DAO's July revenue, highlighting the importance of the new licensing model. ARB Prices (August 30) US$0.0844 Mark the bottom of the latest breakthrough. ARB Prices (September 6) Approximately US$0.195 Attracted by the momentum of Robinhood Chain, ARB has risen about 131% since August 30.

120.6 million ARBs unlocked immediately after the rebound

The timing of the rebound raises another question. DefiLlama currently lists a plan to release approximately 92.65 million ARB tokens, most of which will be distributed to team members and investors. Based on ARB's current price of close to $0.197, the value of these tokens is approximately $18.2 million.

The arrival of this new supply coincides with the expansion of leverage. CoinGlass data shows that the open interest in ARB futures is approximately US$308 million, and the 24-hour futures trading volume is approximately US$2.15 billion. At this time, the ARB trading price is close to US$0.197.

Robinhood Chain itself has attracted attention beyond pure crypto transactions. The advancement of its tokenized shares has expanded rapidly, but recent AMC token disputes and earlier network outages suggest that this young network still carries operational and regulatory risks.

As a result, the ARB's 120% recovery has solid fundamentals, but the next phase will test whether Robinhood-driven demand can absorb rising leverage and new token supplies.
