Arbitration locks in 10% of L2 fees, ARB prices soar 13%

ARB rose more than 13% in a single day, breaking through all hourly moving averages.

ARB tokens rose more than 13% in 24 hours, breaking through its all-hourly moving average cluster in one fell swoop. Offchain Labs confirmed that 10% of the net revenue generated by Robinhood Chain and other Arbitrum L2 networks will flow back into the ecosystem. Robinhood Chain is now integrated into Robinhood Wallet, supporting cross-chain bridging and in-app redemption. The hourly RSI indicator exceeded 80, indicating that the short-term trend has become overheated.

ARB price jumped 13%: Arbitrum locks in a 10% fee share for L2 networks

Arbitrum\'s ARB token has risen 13.3% in the past 24 hours, trading at nearly US$0.086, bringing its market value back to approximately US$549 million. The rally stems from a statement by Offchain Labs co-founder Steven Goldfeder, who detailed the scale of fees the Arbitrum ecosystem collects from the chains built with its technology. The statement confirmed that 10% of the fees incurred by Robinhood Chain and all other Arbitrum L2 networks are attributed to the ecosystem, of which 8% are allocated to treasury controlled by token holders and 2% is used for development funds; while all fees incurred by Arbitrum One go directly into the treasury. At the same time, Robinhood officially supports the new chain in his wallet, providing traders with double benefits.

ARB has long faced the same criticism as most governance tokens-that is, they only have voting rights but cannot share the benefits of the Internet economy. Now, for the first time, a fixed public revenue sharing mechanism provides holders with a strong refutation.

The actual operation mechanism of the 8/2 split

This mechanism is built into the Arbitrum Expansion Program, a licensing framework that allows companies to deploy their own chains using Arbitrum code. This share applies to chains other than Arbitrum One, and its fee base is the agreement\'s net revenue, which means the model targets the revenue after deducting network costs rather than the share of each user\'s original payment. According to Offchain Labs, sharing revenue comes from sorter profits and may also include benefits from Timeboost, the Arbitrum capture maximum extractable value (MEV) mechanism. As the operator responsible for sorting transactions on the L2 network, the revenue of the sorter is the difference between the fees paid by the user and the cost of submitting data to Ethereum. This difference is the target of the share.

Sources of revenue
Arbitrum One fees: 100% into the DAO treasury
Robinhood Chain net income: 10% into the ecosystem (8% treasury, 2% development)
Other Arbitrum L2 (expansion plan): 10% into the ecosystem (8% treasury, 2% development)

As ARB holders govern the treasury, each new chain launched under this plan will expand the pool of assets controlled by the token community. This is the closest argument to the cash flow logic of ARB tokens since the airdrop in 2023-although holders still cannot directly receive distribution.

Robinhood Wallet: Turning the chain into a consumer-grade product

Robinhood Chain was launched on July 1 as a dedicated Arbitrum chain and ultimately settled to Ethereum. This week\'s wallet integration puts it directly at retail users. Users can now bridge assets from networks such as Solana, Ethereum, and Arbitrum to Robinhood Chain and perform redemption directly within the app without leaving the wallet interface.

Early usage data provides the first real-world test case for revenue models. According to online data cited by Offchain Labs, the network has generated approximately $57,000 in agreement revenue since its launch on July 1. Although the absolute value is small, the potential user base is huge: qualified users from more than 120 countries can already trade tokenized stocks through Robinhood Wallet, and spot liquidity is provided by Uniswap, Lighter and 1inch.

ARB broke through the one-week consolidation range near US$0.076

On the hourly chart, ARB fluctuated roughly within the range of US$0.075 to US$0.082 since July 2, and was repeatedly blocked below dense moving averages until July 9 broke through all three moving averages at one time and rose to US$0.087. The 50-hour, 100-hour and 200-hour simple moving averages are tightly compressed between $0.0785 and $0.0788.

When multiple moving averages are so close, they together form a composite resistance zone rather than three independent resistance levels. Effectively breaking the entire moving average cluster is usually more meaningful than breaking a single moving average, because it also eliminates multiple reference points that sellers rely on. These moving averages are currently below prices, becoming the first area buyers expect to defend during a pullback.

The risk is that the 14-cycle RSI (a volatile indicator of the strength of recent price fluctuations, ranging from 0 to 100) currently reads 83.7. A value above 70 is usually considered an overbought range, while values in the middle of 80 usually signal a pause or partial correction in prices-although the overbought reading itself rarely accurately marks the top.

Key price levels
Resistance level: 0.088 - 0.090 US $(Just above the local high of US$0.087)
First support: US$0.082 (Upper edge of the previous week\'s consolidation range)
Key support: US$0.0785-US$0.0788 (50, 100, and 200-hour moving averages)
Bottom of the range: US$0.075 (defensive low before the breakthrough on July 8)

If the price holds above US$0.082 in the backtest, it will confirm that the previous range resistance level has transformed into support-called role switching in technical analysis. A loss in the moving average cluster would put a breakthrough in doubt and open up room for prices to fall back to $0.075.

Indicator to measure the actual value of the 10% share

Unless the chain built on the technology stack handles a large number of transactions, the contribution of the above share mechanism to the treasury will be very limited. This is the goal of the platform\'s latest pricing strategy. The Arbitrum platform launched Dynamic Pricing this week-a fee model based on resource consumption, where users only pay for the resources they actually consume. Offchain Labs reports that Arbitrum One has achieved sustained throughput of 910 MGas per second on the main network. Cheaper, more predictable costs are designed to attract the institutional chain that expansion plans monetize.

Quarterly data worth watching in the future include: net revenue reported by Robinhood Chain and more than 30 other dedicated chains on the platform, the speed at which new expansion plans are launched, and a comparison of standardized revenue on whether the DAO has begun releasing partner chains-as the wording of its fact sheet already implies. If Robinhood\'s early revenue can be combined with tokenized stock trading volume covering 120 markets, treasury inflows will no longer be insignificant. Instead, the ARB will drive trading only by market sentiment-and the RSI of 83 suggests that sentiment has carried most of the upward momentum.
