Theoretical speculation: Britto's rights are linked to Hidden Road
Echo X, a prominent figure in the cryptocurrency community, shared the document on social platforms, emphasizing Britto's "lifelong rights" to develop within the Ripple ecosystem. The post called Britto a "silent founder" and questioned whether his lifetime license would allow him to quietly participate in subsequent Ripple-related projects.
Echo X then speculated that Britto may have a potential connection with Hidden Road, which is that Ripple previously acquired the platform for US$1.2 billion. The discussion thread raised the question whether Britto's development rights included participating in the infrastructure link between Hidden Road and RippleNet, Ripple's corporate collaborative blockchain solution for cross-border payments.
By checking Hidden Road's registered address and clues from the Fuzzy Bear project, someone suggested a possible connection between Britto, Hidden Road and XRP. However, the leaked agreement did not mention Hidden Road, RippleNet, Fuzzy Bear or any projects since 2012, so these views remain speculative.
Background: Hidden Road is an institutional master broker platform that facilitates digital asset trading and serves as a bridge between institutional investors and various sources of liquidity. With this major transaction, Ripple aims to expand its enterprise-level service offerings.
Ripple executives respond
David Schwartz, former chief technology officer (CTO) of Ripple, commented on the document and specifically clarified the terms of a lifetime license granted to Britto to build applications on Ripple's platform.
