XRP Major changes are being planned within Ripple's payment infrastructure

Lang described a plan involving Ripple's borrowing agreement on XRP Ledger (XRPL). Once activated, the agreement will pool XRPs to be used to issue loans and serve as collateral to fund payments by Ripple customers. Lang specifically linked this to credit card institutions, saying his vision was that "payment credit will be combined with XRP Ledger and loan agreements."
This is not a theoretical future product. Lang confirmed that relevant work is already in progress. Infrastructure already exists on XRP Ledger, and activating the loan agreement will be the key next step.
