Coinbase announced that it will relaunch Coinbase Pro before the end of 2026 and integrate Deribit

Coinbase recently announced plans to relaunch its advanced trading platform Coinbase Pro before the end of 2026. During the Token2049 event in Singapore, the company disclosed its upcoming upgrade plans and completed its integration with the major cryptocurrency options exchange Deribit.

Integrate Deribit to enhance global derivatives access

This integration led to the establishment of the "Coinbase Global Exchange" to simplify access to a unified derivatives trading ecosystem. Coinbase said the U.S. and international derivatives markets will be merged into a single liquidity pool for the first time, increasing market depth and efficiency.

Coinbase Financial Markets, as a regulated U.S. futures commission broker, will connect eligible U.S. customers to global cryptocurrency derivative liquidity. The move follows guidelines issued in May by the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) that allow regulated U.S. institutional customers to enter the options and perpetual contract markets.

Coinbase emphasized the importance of the move, describing it as the first time in market history that unified the U.S. and international derivatives markets, providing investors with unprecedented liquidity and flexibility. Previously, such products required to be traded through offshore entities and multiple platforms, posing operational challenges. Institutional users can now access these tools using Coinbase Prime, the account opening process is now underway and options trading will be launched in the coming weeks.

According to the company, as of September 30, Deribit's open interest in bitcoin options reached US$30 billion, and last year processed more than US$1 trillion in transactions. Coinbase acquired Deribit for $2.9 billion in August 2025, a move that is expected to further expand its influence in the options market.

Outside the United States, eligible traders are expected to gain access to Deribit options products in the near future, which will support institutional and professional active traders around the world.

Coinbase Pro will provide spot leverage and expansion functions

In order to integrate advanced trading functions into the main Coinbase app, Coinbase Pro will cease service in 2022. Today, the platform will return in the form of supporting spot, futures, perpetual contracts, options and stock trading. The company announced that the platform has been newly built to provide high-frequency traders with faster order routing and customized tools.

New highlights include the introduction of spot leveraged trading functionality, allowing eligible customers to borrow funds with leverage of up to 10 times for collateral on major cryptocurrency assets, and leverage multiples of up to 5 times for other backing assets. In addition, the new platform will be equipped with a modern matchmaking engine, optimized execution processes, and account opening procedures specifically designed for speed and efficiency.

Coinbase has also introduced a revised tier of advanced transaction rates, with an eligibility threshold starting with a combined spot and derivatives trading volume of US$10,000. The changes are designed to attract active traders seeking advanced features and competitive rates.

U.S. retail traders are expected to gain access to Derivbit-backed options products later this year, in line with the timetable for Coinbase Pro's relaunch.

Meme tokens soar, social trading rise

Continued improvements in trading platforms have also driven the surge in the Meme token market, and the viral Internet trend can quickly generate millions of dollars in trading interest. The latest data from the Fomo App shows that a trader converted a $99 investment in the "Niu Lai" token into approximately $370,000, vividly demonstrating the popularity and volatility surrounding these assets. It's not enough to focus on price trends; monitoring investor movements and timing of entry in highly volatile tokens is becoming increasingly important. Fomo App meets this need by integrating token discovery, trading capabilities, social dynamics, investor ranking and instant trading notifications on a unified platform, positioning itself as a central hub to help people keep up with the Meme token boom and investor sentiment.
