In the past week or so, many important events have occurred in the broader Ripple and XRP ecosystem, involving new partnerships and developments for the company and its underlying assets. This article will review these key points and explore some of the reasons for the decline in native token prices.
Wall Street's major victory and new developments in South Korea
Before delving into the price trend of XRP, let's take a look at some of the big news that came in this week. Ripple has strengthened its partnership with Wall Street magnate Brevan Howard, increasing access to multi-asset prime brokerage operations as demand rises and integrated investment infrastructure develops. Ripple Prime will streamline the Wall Street entity's operations in multiple asset classes, including traditional assets and crypto assets, to improve capital efficiency. The cooperation follows Ripple's $500 million financing round completed in 2025, in which Braven Howard was a participant, marking a significant evolution in the relationship between the two parties after the SEC settlement.
Another important macro news comes from South Korea on the other side of the world. Meritz Securities and Ripple have entered into a partnership to improve the country's digital asset infrastructure, focusing on custody and tokenization. The agreement is designed to adapt to the changing local market and regulatory environment, and continues Ripple's broader expansion in South Korea after it has reached deals with K Bank and Kyobo Life Insurance.
