The well-known encryption analysis platform Zapper is about to close, co-founder and CEO Seb Audet announced on July 8. Founded in 2019, Zapper is a decentralized finance (DeFi) panel and portfolio tracker. In a seed round led by Framework Ventures and Libertus Capital, the platform raised $1.5 million in 2020. Zapper received a US$15 million Series A financing round at the peak of the cryptocurrency market in 2021, led by Framework Ventures, with Mark Cuban and Ashton Kutcher\'s Sound Ventures participating.

However, after nearly seven years of operation, the platform is about to close, Audet said. What started as his personal portfolio tracker turned into a popular analytics platform that served more than 2 million monthly active users at its peak and processed more than $13 billion in transaction volume, the co-founder said. After evaluating various options, some of which had been pursued as hard as he could, he recently realized that an orderly shutdown was the best course of action, Audet revealed. The goal was to make DeFi more accessible, and even if the platform failed to achieve this mission, it has managed to make the chain economy \"significantly easier to use for a significant number of people,\" he added.

Audet informed that Zapper\'s services, including official website, mobile applications and API services, will be completely shut down on August 3. Existing API users will receive an email about the transition, he added. Audet also urged the crypto industry to hire the developers and operations executives who have built Zapper for years and made it a popular avenue for crypto and DeFi users.
