Robinhood launched its new Layer 2 blockchain Robinhood Chain on July 1. In the first week of launch, more than US$70 million in Ethereum (ETH) was transferred to the platform. Data from Token Terminal showed that liquidity poured in rapidly during the launch period, showing strong signs of early adoption.
First-week indicators are eye-catching
Robinhood Chain is built on Arbitrum, is fully compatible with the Ethereum Virtual Machine, and uses ETH as a native transaction fee token. The company positions the network to both support artificial intelligence applications and focus on tokenization of real-world assets. As a U.S. financial technology company, Robinhood is known for providing stock and cryptocurrency trading services.
Analysts at Token Terminal believe that if user adoption continues at this rate, Robinhood Chain may become an important new source of ETH demand. They pointed out that the network has quickly transformed liquidity into on-chain economic activity, creating meaningful new channels for the use of ETH.
Token Terminal emphasized that Robinhood Chain is rapidly transforming liquidity into economic activity, establishing an effective path for the growth of ETH demand. In the first week of the network\'s launch, the number of daily active users climbed to 194,000. Daily revenue reached US$39,000, and annualized revenue was approximately US$14 million, showing the chain\'s strong growth momentum since its launch.
Liquidity and total locked positions soar
DefiLlama\'s data shows a similar trend. According to data from the platform, the total locked volume (TVL) on Robinhood Chain reached 46,748 ETH, which is approximately US$83 million at market prices. On Thursday alone, total deposits reached 31,855 ETH, or approximately $55 million at current valuations.
Uniswap founder Hayden Adams said that most activities on Robinhood Chain are priced in ETH. He explained that ETH is the main asset in the trading pair, with the highest transaction volume, and is also the settlement currency for block space fees. Hayden Adams reports that a significant portion of Robinhood Chain activity is based on ETH, and ETH is also destroyed on the main network as part of network data storage fees.
Tokenized stocks drive demand for ETH
Robinhood also provides tokenized stocks to customers in more than 120 countries. The growing interest in representing U.S. stocks on blockchain has strengthened the position of Ethereum and its Layer 2 network in the real-world asset space. Data from RWA.xyz shows that more than half of the real-world asset tokenization market is located within the Ethereum ecosystem.
Andri Fauzan Adziima, head of research at Bitrue, said early transaction volumes confirmed the growth cycle of Layer 2 solutions, creating strong new demand for ETH. Tim Sun, senior researcher at HashKey Group, emphasized that Robinhood Chain\'s use of ETH to pay gas fees is structurally beneficial to the Ethereum network.
On Friday, the price of ETH rose to US$1775. Despite this, the token is still down 64% from its all-time high in August 2025.
