NFT sales surged 55.6% to US$75.54 million in one week, with BNB Chain surpassing Ethereum to top the list.

In the past seven days, NFT sales increased 55.6% month-on-month to approximately US$75.54 million. At the same time, the number of transactions fell 14.77% to 650,332. The number of buyer addresses increased 20.38% to 273,655, and the number of seller addresses increased 18.09% to 291,266. Despite an increase in buyer addresses, Ethereum's sales fell 14.23% to US$18.94 million. In contrast, BNB Chain's sales surged 1,042% to US$32.75 million, putting it first among major networks.

Among the top collectibles,"Courtyard" ranked first with sales of US$6.32 million, and a BRC-20NFT was sold for a high price of 10 bitcoins.

Market Overview and Data Interpretation

According to data captured by CryptoSlam on September 5 (selecting a seven-day view), NFT sales increased from approximately US$48.55 million in the previous cycle to the current US$75.54 million. Buyer addresses climbed 20.38% to 273,655, and seller addresses increased 18.09% to 291,266. However, the total number of transactions fell by 14.77% to 650,332. This means that an increase in sales value is accompanied by a decrease in the number of recorded transfers.

The average value per transaction rose to about $116, compared with about $64 the previous week. It should be noted that CryptoSlam records blockchain addresses, not verified individual buyers or sellers, so the total number of these addresses should not be regarded as a confirmed number of users.

As the broader cryptocurrency market remains volatile, OpenSea has also increased trading support from Solana NFT. At the time of writing, Bitcoin is close to $79,694, and Ethereum is trading at approximately $2,458. The total market value of cryptocurrencies is approximately US$2.78 trillion.

It should be pointed out that these simultaneous changes do not establish a causal relationship that cryptocurrency prices directly led to the increase in NFT sales. The abnormally large weekly increase in BNB Chain also means that global comparisons need to be analyzed in conjunction with the network-level context.

BNB Chain leads NFT sales with US$32.75 million

BNB Chain ranks first with organic NFT sales of approximately US$32.75 million, an increase of 1,042% from the previous seven trading days. The number of buyer addresses on the network increased by 30.84% to 22,132.

CryptoSlam records show that BNB Chain's water force swiped transaction volume was only US$8, and its total amount was close to US$32.75 million. This growth in size and speed makes the network a major contributor to global weekly gains, although the collectibles rankings do not show that individual BNB Chain items account for the majority of the money.

Performance of other major chains

  • Ethereum: Ranked second, with organic sales of US$18.94 million, a year-on-year decrease of 14.23%. The volume of swiping transactions by the water army fell 56.30% to approximately US$742,249, bringing the network's total to US$19.68 million. Despite the decline in sales, Ethereum's buyer addresses increased by 21.13% to 40,098.
  • Polygon:This was followed by organic sales of $7.29 million, an increase of 6.12%. The blockchain also recorded US$18.73 million in swiping transactions, bringing its total volume to US$26.02 million. Polygon has 94,731 buyer addresses, the largest total among the leading chains, and an increase of 10.67%.
  • Bitcoin Layer 2 (Base and other ecosystems mention Bitcoin related): The original expression here is a little confusing. Generally, Bitcoin itself does not directly serve as the NFT main network, but the article mentions "Bitcoin ranked fourth". Combined with the context and the subsequent mention of BRC-20, this may refer to data based on the Bitcoin ecosystem or specific Layer 2 solutions, or to BTC related NFT activities. Data showed sales of $5.87 million, down 34.20% from the previous week. Despite this, buyer addresses increased by 28.95% to 13,103. The network also generated approximately US$94,991 in water-force transactions, totaling US$5.96 million.
  • Base: ranked fifth with sales up 36.59% to US$4.23 million. Its water army swiping transaction volume reached US$4.8 million, exceeding organic sales and pushing the total volume to US$9.03 million. Buyer addresses jumped by 64.50% to 5,050.
  • Solana: Completed the sixth largest list after the top five, with organic sales of US$1.91 million, an increase of 9.99%. The network recorded 47,853 buyer addresses (a 24% increase) and approximately $24,849 in water army activity.

Courtyard tops the list of weekly NFT collections and sales

"Courtyard", based on the Polygon network, continued to maintain its leading NFT collection position with sales of US$6.32 million, an increase of 7.50%. The platform recorded 97,050 transactions, an increase of 1.01%, while buyer addresses dropped 7.63% to 17,766.

Courtyard's sales account for approximately 8.4% of global NFT total. Its high transaction volume distinguishes the project's activities from other projects where sales are concentrated only in a few wallets or transfers.

Base network-based "Beezie" ranked second, with sales rising 39.39% to US$2.64 million. The number of transactions increased 47.36% to 16,521, but CryptoSlam only recorded 9 buyer addresses and 240 seller addresses. The low number of buyers suggests that sales are highly concentrated rather than distributed among a broad user base.

Ethereum's "Argonauts" ranked third with sales of US$2.07 million, despite a 63.54% decline in sales. The number of transactions fell 72.74% to 3,068, and both buyer and seller addresses also fell by more than 50%.

"CryptoPunks" followed closely, with sales of US$1.86 million, down 9.92% from the previous week. The project generated 18 transactions involving 15 buyer addresses and 15 seller addresses.

"Blokyz" generated $1.48 million, down 19.56%, from 3,889 transactions. Bored Ape Yacht Club ranked sixth with sales of US$1.17 million, an increase of 19.71%, and its number of transactions increased by 18.87% to 63.

Guild of Guardians Heroes finished in the top seven with sales of US$981,850, an increase of 2.64%. Its transaction number fell 5.78% to 733, and buyer addresses fell 15.42%.

BRC-20NFT leads high-value NFT sales

The bitcoin-based $REWD BRC-20NFT #68f822daa8f482226a42a15319b5fe66a... recorded the largest transaction, traded nine hours before the snapshot for 10 bitcoins, worth approximately US$796,863.

Another Bitcoin underlying asset from the $X@AI BRC-20 NFT collection ranks second. It was sold three days ago for 5.1158 BTC, with a valuation of approximately $394,346.

"CryptoPunks #1839" ranked third and was sold for 161.5 ETH, or approximately US$394,320, approximately 18 hours before the data was captured.

"Algebra Positions NFT-V2 #43" recorded the fourth-largest transaction with an amount of 365,231.125 USDT and a value of approximately US$365,231, which occurred two days ago. Algebra Position NFT represents liquidity positions on decentralized exchanges rather than traditional digital collectibles.

CryptoSlam classified both BRC-20 transactions and Algebra location transfers as NFT sales, although their economic structures are different from Profile Picture and Digital Art NFT.
