SHIB Shiba Inu developers respond to questions about Shibarium maintenance
Kaal Dhairya, the main developer of Shiba Inu (Shiba Inu), has ended a period of silence online and responded to questions about ongoing Shibarium maintenance. Shibarium is a Meme token exclusive Layer 2 network built on top of Ethereum. Dhairya's statement came after public inquiries from community members who expressed concerns about the sustainability of such networks after the riot platform was announced to be closed.
Developers clarify funding issues
Dhairya spoke on X (formerly Twitter), a while after he had not posted publicly in the past few months. His comments were sparked by user Ed Salomons, active in the Ethereum and Layer 2 space, who questioned who was paying the costs associated with operating and maintaining Shibarium.
Salomons placed this issue in the context of the recent announcement of the closure of Blast, an Ethereum Layer 2 chain, which said it ceased operations due to "unsustainable operating conditions" and "lack of viable revenue sources." Dhairya replied briefly: "Myself."
Amid growing speculation about Shibarium's future costs, Dhairya hinted that he would personally bear the cost of maintaining the network. While the response reassured some community members that Shibarium was still supported, Dhairya did not share details about specific expenditures, whether alternative sources of funding existed, or a clear long-term network sustainability strategy.
Shibarium's recent technology updates
