SHIB exchange reserves exceeded 88 trillion yuan, hitting a four-month high.
As bearish signals continue to accumulate, Shiba Inu holders are facing new uncertainty. The sharp rise in exchange reserves has focused the market on trading behavior itself, especially as SHIB struggles to regain its upward momentum. Recent on-chain data shows that selling pressure is increasing, raising concerns about the risk of further downturns. As exchange balances climb above key thresholds, traders are closely watching for signs of the next big move.
Exchange reserves hit four-month high
Recent data from CryptoQuant shows a significant increase in exchange supply in Shiba Inu. The indicator suggests that more SHIB tokens are flowing to trading platforms, a trend that often signals increased seller activity. According to the latest data, exchange reserves have currently reached 88.07 trillion SHIBs. This level is the highest exchange balance recorded since early June. Market conditions were highly volatile at the time, and traders reacted violently to price fluctuations.
Breaking the 88 trillion mark again quickly attracted investors 'attention. Large exchange reserves often mean more tokens are available for immediate trading. As a result, market participants often view such developments as bearish signals. Further confirming this view, SHIB's net exchange inflow currently shows positive, exceeding 288 billion tokens. Positive net inflows usually indicate that more assets are entering the exchange than assets are leaving. Such activity may increase selling pressure when market sentiment is weak. Current conditions seem to support this concern. SHIB has lost an important price target and continues to fall as the broader cryptocurrency market. The combination of falling prices and rising exchange balances has created a challenging environment for bulls.
Shorts dominate as SHIB weakens
Shiba Inu has fallen nearly 3% in the past 24 hours. While the decline appears moderate, underlying indicators tell a more worrying story. Growing exchange reserves suggest that many holders may be preparing to sell or reallocate assets. This behavior usually occurs when confidence fades or traders anticipate additional downside risks. Market observers also pointed to weakening demand.
Buying activity does not look as positive as previous rallies, giving sellers greater control over short-term price movements. The broader cryptocurrency market has also exacerbated this pressure. Many digital assets have difficulty maintaining their upward trend, creating a cautious atmosphere among investors. Under these conditions, meme coins tend to respond more violently to emotional changes.
At present, the reserve level of 88 trillion SHIB is still a critical indicator that needs close attention. Continued growth in exchange balances may strengthen bearish expectations. On the other hand, a decline in reserves could indicate that holders are moving tokens out of exchanges, which many see as a more constructive development. Until demand returns, SHIB may remain vulnerable to further declines.
