Robinhood Chain has soared, surpassing Hyperliquid, driving Arbitrum to soar.
Only one week after its launch, Robinhood Chain has become one of the busiest networks in the cryptocurrency field. The Arbitrum-based blockchain processed $568 million in transactions on Wednesday and added more than $350 million to Thursday, with more than 5.2 million transactions and 213,000 active addresses in 24 hours. Johann Kerbrat, general manager of Robinhood\'s cryptocurrency business, said that the total transaction volume in the first week exceeded 17 million, the number of addresses was nearly 350,000, the total agreement locked position volume (TVL) was approximately US$250 million, and the decentralized exchange (DEX) transaction volume exceeded US$1 billion.
CEO Vlad Tenev also made a positive statement, forwarded it on the X platform and wrote: \"Robinhood summer is here.\" These data are not inferior to more mature chains. According to DefiLlama data, Robinhood Chain\'s 24-hour DEX transaction volume is approximately US$433 million, ranking fifth among all blockchains, surpassing Hyperliquid. Its total locked position (TVL) soared from near zero to approximately US$94 million in one week, an increase of more than 7 million, and the stablecoin balance exceeded US$260 million. For a chain that was unknown to the public two weeks ago, overtaking Hyperliquid in trading volume is undoubtedly a major declaration-even if these activities start from scratch and are mainly driven by memin.
At least for now, memein is its fuel. The market value of tokens like Cash Cat has exceeded US$180 million, while a wave of Robinhood-themed currencies such as Dog In Hood, Hoodrat and Robinhood-Summer have increased hundreds or even thousands of times, creating a large number of winners. Some traders turned $800 into more than $1 million, and others made $2 million with $85. Winners are not limited to \"gamblers\". Since Robinhood Chain runs on the Arbitrum technology stack and returns 10% of its net agreement revenue to the Arbitrum ecosystem, Arbitrum\'s token ARB rose 20%, leading the top 100. In addition, OpenSea was the main open protocol for Robinhood\'s minocoin trading earlier this week, seeing an influx of transaction volume and users (now supported by Pump Fun and Fomo apps).
Robinhood Chain\'s start was impressive-but was it really the right move? Obviously, embracing memoin gave it a sensational debut. However, memocoin trading is unpredictable, and most participants end up losing heavy losses (or even losing their money). We have seen what happened to Solana after the Trumpcoin boom: the darling of the 2023-2025 memoin cycle, its price plunged 70%, and it is still cleaning up the mess and desperately looking for a new narrative. This is undoubtedly a warning to the Vlad and Robinhood teams.
If this is just a transitional phase until real-world assets (RWAs) are deployed on its chain, it might work-and that\'s a long-term vision. So they temporarily let the \"gamblers\" party. I just hope they don\'t let this become their whole brand...
