Seven U.S. Democratic senators reiterate their push for the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act

On September 16, seven U.S. Democratic senators issued a joint statement stating that they will continue to be committed to promoting the passage of the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act. The move came after the bill failed in a procedural vote in the Senate the day before.

The senators who signed the statement include: Kirsten Gillibrand of New York Kirsten Gillibrand, Angela Alsbrooks of Maryland (Angela Alsobrooks), Corey Booker of New Jersey (Cory Booker), Catherine Cortez Masto of Nevada, Ruben Gallego of Arizona, Mark Warner of Virginia and Raphael Warnock of Georgia. All seven senators had previously voted against the bill on September 15, when the bill failed to pass with 49 votes in favor, short of the required 60 votes.

"This week was a setback, but not the end of this important work," the senators wrote in a statement.

Pledges bipartisan cooperation to advance legislation

The statement states that the group has spent two years working on cryptocurrency legislation aimed at expanding opportunities, protecting consumers, punishing bad actors, establishing regulatory certainty, and adding ethics provisions for elected officials. "We remain committed to moving this legislation through in a bipartisan manner." They wrote.
