FollowingApple releases updates to iOS 26.7.1 and iPadOS 26.7.1 to fix high-risk vulnerabilities
On September 28, Apple released an update to iOS 26.7.1 and iPadOS 26.7.1 to fix a serious security vulnerability. The vulnerability could allow an attacker to run arbitrary code on an affected device. The technology giant said the issue involved an out-of-bounds write flaw in CoreGraphics and pointed out that the vulnerability could be triggered by processing specially crafted malicious files.
SlowMist warns encryption users of risks
Apple has confirmed that the vulnerability may have been exploited in versions before iOS 27 in an "extremely complex attack" against specific targeted individuals. At the same time, security company SlowMist pointed out that the vulnerability was related to iOS attacks it had been tracking. The company also specifically warns cryptocurrency users to be vigilant, urging them to immediately update their Apple devices to avoid clicking on suspicious links, opening unknown files, or installing unaudited applications. Users should also be extra cautious when downloading apps or opening content from unknown sources.
A wide range of devices will be affected this time, including iPhone 11 and subsequent models, as well as a number of recently released iPad models.
Review of FomoPeek Malicious App Incident
A week ago, SlowMist reported an iOS security threat related to the FomoPeek app. The company said it had received multiple reports of users losing digital assets and found that the victim had suffered a leak of his private key. Some victims had previously installed versions 1.1 and 1.2 of FomoPeek.
