Financial analyst Levi points out significant changes in XRP positions
Financial analyst Levi recently paid attention to significant changes in XRP positions in major wallets, which indicates that a large amount of XRP is flowing out of well-known cryptocurrency exchanges. Levi has long tracked money movements on the blockchain, and he recently released an analysis focusing on holding 10 million to 100 million XRP addresses.
Whale holdings and exchange outflows intensify
Levi pointed out in his video comment that wallets in the above position range have increased their holdings by 1.6 billion XRPs in just two weeks, bringing their total balance to a record high of 13.93 billion XRPs. This concentrated increase in holdings is consistent with the trend of large-scale outflows on mainstream trading platforms.
By matching wallet activity with exchange outflow data, Levi revealed signs of increased activity among large holders, known as "whales" in the market. He pointed out: "When whale holdings occur simultaneously with large-scale exchange outflows, this phenomenon deserves close attention."
Levi emphasized that these developments are particularly evident in Binance and Coinbase, the world's two largest cryptocurrency exchanges. He further said that the operations of large holders often have strategic intentions: "Smart money does not act for no reason."
Data quoted by Levi shows that on September 30, a single large transfer of at least 1 million XRPs accounted for 60.8% of all XRP outflows on Binance that day and 48.7% of Coinbase's outflows that day. These data highlight the dominance of large transfers in the trading activity of the day.
Small Dictionary: "whale" is a term in the cryptocurrency field that refers to an investor or entity holding a large amount of a specific token, and its trading activities may have a significant impact on market prices.
Community reactions show divided views
The surge in whale holdings and exchange outflows has put large XRP holders in the spotlight. Many analysts, including Levi, believe this continued trend suggests that the market's largest players may be taking strategic moves.
However, not everyone agrees with the meaning behind these movements. Erik J. Layton pointed out to community members on social platform X (formerly Twitter) that despite the huge outflow, the overall supply of XRP on the exchange is still considerable. "That's true, but we're still far from a real supply shock. Although a large number of tokens have left the exchange, there is still a high volume available for circulation,"Layton responded.
Levi's main focus is the scale and timing of recent wallet holdings and the large outflows. In contrast, Layton's comments are a reminder that there has not yet been a substantial supply shock in the XRP market.
