Key facts: The price of Bitcoin once approached $84,000 per unit. According to CoinMarketCap data, its highest price in 24 hours was $84,061, representing a rise of approximately 1.2%.

Among the widely recovering mainstream tokens, Zcash stood out, with a rise of about 3%, and its price reached around $1,245 (according to CoinMarketCap data).

As market participants await the release of the US inflation report on Thursday, traders are considering the predictions made by John Williams, president of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. He believes that the inflation rate will reach the Fed’s target of 2% by 2028.

Bitcoin (BTC) has recently risen to around $84,000. As of publication, according to CoinMarketCap data, its highest price in 24 hours was $84,061, representing a rise of approximately 1.2%.

This increase occurred after a significant decline earlier this week. On Monday, as positions worth over $770 million were liquidated, Bitcoin fell below the $82,000 mark.

Despite the volatile market conditions, large holders continued to maintain their demand for Bitcoin. Strategy Company has managed to acquire nearly 850,000 units of Bitcoin through a series of weekly purchases.

Williams’ inflation forecast is based on certain circumstances.

According to Pound Sterling Live, John Williams, president of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, stated during a speech at the University of Buffalo on September 29 that he expects the consumer price index inflation rate to drop to around 3.5% by the end of 2026. This rate will then gradually decrease in 2027, eventually reaching the Fed’s target of 2% by 2028.

After raising interest rates in September, he stated that there was no need to rush into another rate hike at the moment. However, based on subsequent data, there may be another rate hike later this year.

Williams said, “This is just my prediction. Time and the overall situation of all relevant data will provide the answer.”

As markets re-evaluate the pace of further tightening, these statements continue to influence trading activities. Market sentiment remains uncertain until the release of the US inflation report on Thursday. If the announced inflation data falls below expectations, it could reinforce Williams’ timeline and provide room for Bitcoin to test higher levels. Conversely, if the data shows overheating, it could lead to renewed expectations for additional rate hikes.

Zcash leads the way among mainstream tokens in its rebound

According to CoinMarketCap data, among mainstream tokens, Zcash (ZEC) is leading the gains, with a increase of about 3%. Its trading price is currently around $1,245.

As Bitcoin rises, several major altcoins have also seen increases, contributing to this trend.
