2026 is halfway through, and it is safe to say that this year will not be friendly to the major cryptocurrencies. The three currencies discussed in this article have been in deep losses year-to-date after falling to recent lows. However, let\'s remain more optimistic about the second half of 2026 and ask ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Grok which currency they think is most likely to achieve the largest gain in the next 5-6 months.
ChatGPT and Gemini\'s Views
As the most well-known and widely used AI, ChatGPT lists the peaks of three assets in real and bullish scenarios: in one scenario, BTC is $95,000, ETH is $3,200, and XRP is $2.50; in another scenario, it is $135,000,$4,500, and $4.50, respectively. Correspondingly, market leader BTC has real and bullish rising potential between 48% and 110%, the largest altcoin ETH is between 97% and 117%, and Ripple\'s cross-border token XRP is between 136% and 325%. The winner for ChatGPT is clear: \"XRP has the largest percentage increase, followed by ETH, which achieves the best balance between upside and fundamentals.\" Bitcoin is described as the currency with the \"highest probability of rebound but the lowest potential return.\"
Gemini has a slightly different view. It ranks Ethereum as the \"biggest contender for theoretical upside\" because it is currently suffering the hardest hit. Gemini pointed out that the upcoming Glamsburg upgrade, which promises to address fee structure issues, could be a catalyst for future gains. \"Since Ethereum started from such a low level, its rise multiplier is huge,\" Gemini added. It classifies XRP as the \"clearest binary catalyst\", while BTC falls into the same category-with the highest probability of rise but the lowest percentage potential.
Added by Grok and Perplexity
Grok largely agrees with Gemini. It said XRP was \"slightly better than its explosive relative gains\" because of its small market capitalisation and its backlog of narrative (payments and regulatory resolution) and sensitivity to good news make it \"the highest beta of the three.\" \"In an environment where risk appetite is rising and altcoins are rotating, XRP tends to amplify fluctuations. However, this comes with higher risks-it may perform poorly if the macro environment weakens or the catalyst is delayed,\"Grok explained. BTC is the safest \"big rally\" bet, while ETH strikes a balance between practicality and adoption, but \"unless a particular narrative triggers a craze, it may lag in a purely speculative rally.\"
Perplexity sided with ChatGPT, pointing out that \"ETH may have the best asymmetric rebound potential in the second half of 2026, while BTC is most likely to remain stable, and XRP is a wild card. If the catalyst is in place, the increase will be the strongest, but the execution risk will also be the highest.\"
