Robinhood's nominal cryptocurrency trading volume increased 61% month-on-month in August
According to operating data released by the company on Thursday, Robinhood's nominal cryptocurrency trading volume increased 61% month-on-month in August to US$17.5 billion. The rebound came after a weak July, when trading volume was $10.9 billion.
Despite a strong monthly recovery, total trading volume in August was still down from US$28.1 billion in the same period last year, a drop of 38%.
Trading performance by platform
The Robinhood app itself handled US$7.4 billion of August transaction volume, a 72% increase from July, but still a 46% decrease from last year. Bitstamp, the exchange acquired by Robinhood in 2025, contributed a larger share, reaching US$10.1 billion, a month-on-month increase of 53%.
Taken together, the average daily cryptocurrency trading volume of these two platforms reaches US$565 million.
