Bitget releases its latest protection fund report: The average valuation in August reached US$382 million

Bitget, the world's leading General Exchange (UEX), released its latest protection fund report. The report showed that as Bitcoin rebounded strongly in late August, the fund's dollar valuation climbed, reaching an average valuation of $382 million in August.

data showed that Bitget Protection Fund hit a monthly high of $441.5 million on August 27, compared with a monthly low of $345.3 million on August 1. Throughout August, the fund's valuation remained above its original commitment of $300 million. This solid performance was supported by Bitget's 5,500 BTC reserves. According to Daily Protection Fund data, Bitcoin's price range in August ranged from $62,773 to $80,268.

The value of the protection fund increased simultaneously with the rise of Bitcoin.

The market trend was relatively flat in early August, and then Bitcoin's momentum increased, especially in the first half of the end of the month. It once exceeded the US$80,000 mark and fell slightly at the end of the month. During this period, Bitcoin rose from US$62,773 on August 1 to US$78,553 on August 31, an increase of more than 25%.

This significant increase directly boosted the value of the Bitget Protection Fund denominated in bitcoin, giving it a valuation of approximately $432 million at the end of the month.

Transparency and security mechanisms continue to be strengthened with business expansion

The Bitget Protection Fund was established in 2022 to serve as an additional layer of protection to protect user assets in extreme market events. The fund's valuation is regularly and publicly updated to ensure that users have a clear understanding of available reserves when market conditions change.

Gracy Chen, CEO of Bitget, said: "Strong market conditions will not reduce the need for strong safeguards. As our ecosystem continues to expand across all types of assets, user protection and transparency must be upgraded. Maintaining sufficient on-chain inventory and disclosing its value is an important part of building trust in the platform."

Bitget Protection Fund currently operates in parallel with its Proof of Reserves (PoR) system. The PoR system ensures that the size of reserves in major positions always exceeds the size of user assets. Together, these two measures form part of the exchange's broader security architecture, combining verifiable asset support with additional pools of reserves designed to deal with contingencies, providing dual protection for users.

The release of this update comes as Bitget continues to expand its universal exchange ecosystem to include cryptocurrencies, tokenized stocks, commodities and other financial markets. As users increasingly tend to trade across multiple asset classes on a single platform, maintaining transparent and verifiable risk prevention mechanisms has become a core part of the platform's risk management framework.
