ZEC ZEC surged to US$1,503.98 in the day, and its market value exceeded the US$25 billion mark.
On Thursday, Zcash (ZEC) hit an intraday high of US$1,503.98, a one-day gain of 15%, and a cumulative increase of 194% over the past month. Its current market value is approximately US$25.26 billion, and its 24-hour trading volume reaches US$2.86 billion. It is worth noting that a year ago, the trading price of the token only hovered around $51.
The result of the NU7 vote is clear: the community strongly supports shortening the block time.
This price increase follows the NU7 coin holders 'vote that ended on Monday. The voting results showed that the vast majority of coin holders supported shortening the target block time from 75 seconds to 25 seconds, and supported retaining an emission mechanism similar to Bitcoin halving with almost unanimous votes (98.9%). The number of ZECs participating in the voting was approximately 2.4 million, accounting for a significant proportion of the approximately 3.6 million eligible tokens.
The voting was conducted through a privacy-friendly system that only counted Ironwood blocked balances and encrypted votes, allowing verifiers to verify the results without revealing the balance of individual coin holders. Eligibility requires ZEC to be in expendable status, in blocked mode, and held in Ironwood account at the time of snapshot.
This upgrade retains bitcoin-like halving, reduces block time to 25 seconds, and phases out traditional Srout pools. Although the activation altitude of NU7 has not yet been set, meaning that this vote is more about establishing a directional authorization than a specific date for the immediate implementation of a hard fork, its strategic significance is still significant.
Ledger 合作与 Grayscale ETF 助推市场热度
@ZcashLabs 宣布与 @Ledger 达成新的资金协议，以支持 Zcash Ironwood（NU6.3）屏蔽池的集成工作。双方承诺投入 80,000 美元用于工程开发，旨在将先前的 Orchard 集成适配至新的 Ironwood 架构。该集成将在经过独立安全审计及最终质量测试后，计划于 2026 年 9 月底发布。
