During this period, BlackRock's ETFs significantly outperformed other issuers, purchasing approximately 5,347 bitcoins worth approximately US$450.18 million. In contrast, operations by other institutions showed a downward trend: Fidelity sold approximately 2,010 bitcoins;Bitwise divested approximately 463 bitcoins; and Grayscale reduced approximately 354 positions. In addition, ARK21 Shares and Morgan Stanley related products purchased a net of 306 and 112 bitcoins respectively.
In the Ethereum space, the sector experienced a net outflow of approximately US$138.02 million this week. Among them, Fidelity's FETH products accounted for US$74 million in outflow. According to estimates by Crypto Patel, the total sales volume of the Ethereum ETF market in the United States is approximately 43,974 ETH units. Specifically, Fidelity products sold approximately 27,578 ETH units, Grayscale cut its position of approximately 14,605 ETH units, VanEck reduced its holdings of approximately 2,570 ETH units, and Franklin Related Products disposed of approximately 2,272 ETH units. These selling operations were partially offset by small purchases of Ethereum by BlackRock and ARK21 Shares.
Overview of fund movements in major ETF providers
A solid start to October
CryptoQuant's records show that Bitcoin typically faces pressure in early October, with the average price trending downward for the first three trading days of each year. But this year, cryptocurrencies bucked the trend, maintaining a high price level, showing a resilient market tone that observers praise.
This week's ETF data revealed clear polarization: Bitcoin products achieved $241.09 million in inflows, while Ethereum-focused funds lost $138.02 million. Both Hupzy and Crypto Patel confirmed this divergence.
Although a strong start does not guarantee that Bitcoin will continue to rise throughout the month, the performance has surprised investors in anticipation of seasonal weakness. Bitcoin successfully surpassed the traditional October weakness cycle, laying a positive foundation for subsequent market trends.
