Fairshake supports 32 House incumbents, investing $1 million each into six pro-cryptocurrency candidates

Fairshake, the leading U.S. cryptocurrency Political Action Committee (PAC), has publicly announced that it will support 32 House incumbents in the upcoming November election. The Super Political Action Committee (Super PAC) will allocate approximately $1 million in funding to each of six select candidates from both Democratic and Republican parties.

Bipartisan support focuses on key committees

Fairshake's new list includes 13 Democrats and 19 Republicans, all currently serving in the House. Elected incumbents are generally considered to have safer seats in this election cycle, laying the foundation for the cryptocurrency industry to strengthen ties with U.S. lawmakers, who are seen as supporting innovation.

According to Fairshake spokesperson Geoff Vetter: "Fairshake has always been and will always be an issue-oriented organization. We support pro-crypto candidates in both parties who support American innovation."

Many supported members of Congress serve on influential committees such as the House Ways and Means Committee and the House Financial Services Committee. The two committees play a vital role in the upcoming debate on digital asset taxation and regulatory structures. In addition, representatives were selected to the Agriculture, Science and Justice subcommittees, which are expected to play a key role in forthcoming cryptocurrency-related bills.

Six candidates receive major support

On the Republican side, Fairshake is providing financial support to House Financial Services Committee Chairman French Hill, Senior Commissioner Bill Huizenga, and Digital Assets Subcommittee Chairman Bryan Steil. Each candidate will receive $1 million from Fairshake and its affiliates.

On the Democratic side, Steven Horsford, Derek Tran from California, and Janelle Bynum from Oregon are the main beneficiaries. Horsford, as a member of the House Tax Writing Committee, helped ensure bipartisan support for the cryptocurrency tax code. These lawmakers received an "A" rating in the "Stand With Crypto" digital asset issue rating and are considered to be important voices in shaping future cryptocurrency policies.

Janelle Bynum represents Oregon, defeating Republican Lori Chavez-DeRemer in the last election round. Bynum is an advocate of cryptocurrency innovation, supporting relevant bills during her first term and attended this year's Washington, D.C. Blockchain Summit hosted by the Digital Chamber of Commerce. Chavez-DeRemer, who had previously received Fairshake's support, resigned amid allegations of misconduct after a brief tenure as labor minister.

Fairshake's influence and prospects

Fairshake claims that all 53 major candidates it supports have won in the 57 primaries that have concluded so far, aiming to establish the so-called "largest pro-cryptocurrency caucus in U.S. history." The PAC's strategy was to favor dominant party candidates in their respective districts, contributing to previous election successes.

In many primaries, Fairshake tends to support party candidates who may win the popular vote-a strategy that worked well in the last election.

While the House of Representatives has relatively little resistance to digital asset legislation, the Senate is more challenging. Although the GENIUS Act was passed last year, the more comprehensive Digital Asset Market Clarification Act recently failed to pass in the Senate.

Fairshake has not launched any major action against senators who oppose the stalled legislation. Instead, the group's main opposition to spending has focused on former Senator Sherrod Brown. Brown is a long-standing cryptocurrency skeptic who served as chairman of the Senate Banking Committee. Fairshake has reportedly spent about $30 million to defeat Brown's re-election attempt, with another $3 million from a political action committee associated with Gemini co-founders Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss.
