Solana (SOL) US$125 resistance is approaching: Dual analysis of technical and fundamentals

Solana (SOL) is currently trading in a narrow range around US$121 after achieving a strong rebound in September. Technical indicators show that SOL has successfully remained above the key moving average, while the convergent triangle pattern formed in the chart further exacerbates market expectations that greater levels of price volatility are imminent. For investors, the key focus in the short term is $125. If this resistance level is broken, Solana is expected to launch a higher price target.

Analysis of Price Dynamics and Technical Indicators

As of October 6, Solana's trading price was approximately US$121.44, an increase of 0.55% in the past 24 hours. The intraday high hit US$122 and then pulled back to US$118.88, but recently successfully maintained a narrow trading range. Current prices are about 3.5% below the key $125 level.

From the daily chart, the 20-day exponential moving average (EMA) is at US$116.39, the 50-day EMA is at US$106.76, the 100-day EMA is around US$97.77, and the 200-day EMA is around US$96.60. Solana runs above all these important moving averages, a technical performance that deserves attention.

In the weekly technical outlook, US$125 becomes one of the key levels that determines Solana's next move. According to the Murrey Math indicator, the next important resistance level above the region is $156.25, while the important support level below is $93.75. Market analyst Wealthmanager pointed out that the SOL chart shows a convergent triangle with a gradually decreasing high point and a gradually increasing low point. This structure suggests that price volatility is narrowing, and once the pattern breaks through, volatility may increase significantly. Since there has not yet been a clear signal of a breakthrough, judging the direction too early may be risky.

DeFi lockups and derivatives demand rise

In addition to technical tightening, fundamental data for the Solana ecosystem also continues to increase. The total locked value (TVL) in the Solana Decentralized Finance (DeFi) agreement rose from approximately $5.6 billion in early September to approximately $6.7 billion in early October. The trading activity of decentralized exchanges (DEX) and the maintenance of the number of active wallets further support the liquidity of the ecosystem.

The derivatives market also showed a similar positive picture. Solana's total open interest has exceeded the US$7 billion mark. The increase in open interest reflects rising investor interest, but also means that liquidation risks may rise amid sharp price fluctuations.

Short-term outlook and key supporting resistance

Two areas are particularly important in Solana's short-term trend:

  • Upward scenario: A breakthrough of $125 will constitute a strong signal for a breakthrough in the convergence triangle, when investors can focus on higher levels of resistance.
  • Downside scenario: US$113.05 on the daily chart is an important support level. A break below this level could trigger a deeper correction towards the 20th and 50th moving averages.

In addition, the Supertrend indicator remains positive at around US$107.22, which provides support for the technical structure in the medium term. Solana's network-level technology updates continue to advance.

Comprehensive assessment

The convergent triangle structure formed by Solana prices, the intensive clearing area near US$125, and the open interest volume of more than US$7 billion all point to a possible increase in volatility. In particular, an effective breakthrough of $125 will provide impetus for bullish scenarios; conversely, if $113 falls, the short-term outlook may weaken. However, the continued growth of the DeFi field and the improvement of on-chain performance remain important factors supporting Solana's fundamentals.
