Crypto and Solana News
Solana hit a record high in daily token issuance on September 10, minting more than 263,000 Solana Library (SPL) tokens in a single day. This figure far exceeds the peak of 40,000 to 50,000 token issuances per day set during the memecoin craze cycle in December 2024. This data is reported by blockchain browser Solscan.

On the day the record was born, the total number of tokens issued on each launch platform reached 40,360. Among them, the memin platform Pump.fun contributed 34,184, accounting for the vast majority of the launch platform-driven circulation. The remaining releases are distributed across other platforms in the Solana launch platform ecosystem, according to Blockworks dashboard data.
Pump.fun leads most of the new launch projects
The launch platform allows creators to design, launch and trade tokens without the need for deep technical knowledge. These platforms automate the token creation process and provide instant liquidity and exposure for new currencies. Pump.fun has become the dominant platform of this kind on Solana.
In the 24 hours before and after the record was created, Pump.fun generated $1.8 million in daily revenue, making it the highest-grossing Solana native protocol by this measure, according to DefiLlama data. On Friday, the platform was briefly lost to the top spot in daily revenue by Fomo, a trading app that combines cryptocurrency trading with social media-style information streaming. However, the gap quickly narrowed, and Pump.fun regained its top spot.

Pump.fun's role in Solana's revenue landscape
Pump.fun contributed US$124 million to Solana's total network revenue of US$342 million in the first quarter of 2026, accounting for approximately one-third of on-chain revenue for that period. Although the overall cooling of memin trading activity compared to the craze at the end of 2024, the platform still accounts for such a large share. Its huge contribution to token issuance and online revenue highlights its emergence as a core hub of Solana's on-chain economy.
The September 10 record raises questions about what is driving the surge in token creation. The figure of 263,000 includes all SPL tokens minted online, not just tokens launched through platforms such as Pump.fun. The gap between total mints and the number of launches tracked by launch platforms suggests that a large number of new tokens were created outside of public-facing platforms.
