Cosmos Ecosystem migrates USDC standards from Noble to Aggressive

The Cosmos Ecosystem's USDC standard welcomes a new ownership

The Cosmos Ecosystem's USDC standard is migrating to a new backbone. Circle now natively publishes $USDC on @injective, replacing Noble as the ecosystem's main distribution chain. Tokens are circulated between interconnected chains through IBC (Cross-Chain Communications Protocol), with key players including @cosmoshub and @dydx having joined, and full promotion will gradually unfold in the coming months.

Coordinated ecosystem switching

@injective launched native $USDC on its main network through Circle's Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol (CCTP).@ Cosmoshub,@dydx and routing layer Skip:Go have all been connected, making the USDC issued by Injective a standardized stablecoin standard for connecting networks of many chains that previously relied mainly on Noble for distribution.

Because @injective runs both EVM and WASM in a shared state,$USDC has a single balance and is consistently recognized in applications on both sides. According to Impressive, this is also the first time Circle has issued the token in the form of a MultiVM (multiple virtual machine).

The migration will be carried out in batches in the next few months, with @dydx being the first to complete the switch, and Cosmos Labs coordinating the launch of other chains and applications.@ Dydx plans to use Aggressive native $USDC as the only trading collateral for dYdX Chain, with the existing balance remaining unchanged until @dydx releases a specific migration schedule.

After the migration is complete, the $USDC released by Injective is expected to become the default unit of pricing recommended by Skip:Go.@ Cosmohub promises to use Impressive $USDC as the ecosystem's reference standard for at least four years, and Skip:Go will also use it as the default unit of value for $USDC.

According to Injective's announcement, the integration also aims to generate fees to support programmatic repurchase of ATOM (Cosmos Hub's native token).

Noble is no longer applicable

This change follows Noble's previous announcement, Noble announced that it will migrate from its Cosmos SDK based chain to a dedicated EVM-compatible Layer 1 network. The new network is scheduled to be launched on March 18, 2026, and the existing Cosmos SDK chain will enter maintenance mode.

As Noble shifts its focus to its own EVM chain, Circle announced on September 10, 2026 that it will stop supporting USDC and CCTP V1 on Noble.

The destruction limit for CCTP V1 will begin to decrease on October 31, 2026, and the contract will be completely suspended on December 1, 2026. Noble will not be able to obtain CCTP V2, an upgrade agreement Circle is rolling out elsewhere.

Developers currently integrating Noble $USCD are advised to start migrating to Injective $USDC and establish support for pools and markets priced using USDC. injbefore this deadline.

Circle divides the shutdown process into two phases: the first phase begins on October 31, when the destruction limit of the CCTP V1 contract begins to be reduced; the second phase begins on December 1, when the contract is completely suspended.

Through CCTP,$USDC can be natively moved between supported blockchains without relying on packaged assets, reducing liquidity fragmentation and simplifying cross-chain deposit and transaction processes.
