Wyoming stablecoin project FRNT encounters serious security charges

Regarding the infrastructure used by the Wyoming government-backed stablecoin project FRNT, a number of serious security charges have been recently exposed. According to related reports, LayerZero Labs made repeated mistakes in its operational security processes, causing it to lose control of the critical multi-signed private key used to manage FRNT deployments in production environments.

The Wyoming assessment report noted that LayerZero Labs had "recurring serious operational safety failures." One of the main issues was alleged to be related to the company's failure to grant authorization to the Wyoming Stable Token Commission for the production environment.

An investigation conducted to resolve this issue revealed that LayerZero Labs failed to maintain the necessary control over the critical private keys needed to manage real-time deployment of FRNT. The statement also accused the company of failing to fully disclose relevant information about public and private security incidents.

Wyoming emphasizes that such a security record is unacceptable for entities responsible for state government support for the security of digital assets.

After this incident, Wyoming reportedly relocated FRNT infrastructure from LayerZero and switched to Chainlink's Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) infrastructure to handle cross-chain messaging and transfer processes.
