BTC Circle announced that its Layer 1 blockchain Arc has been officially launched on its main network.
Circle recently announced that its Layer 1 blockchain Arc has been officially launched on its main network. As a Layer 1 public chain compatible with the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM), Arc has gathered a strong lineup of founding verifiers since its launch, including BlackRock, Depository Trust and Clearing Corporation (DTCC), Intercontinental Exchange Group (ICE), Visa, Mastercard, Moneygram, SBI Group, Standard Chartered Bank, Sumitomo Corporation, and Worldpay (now Global Payments).
Arc aims to serve three core scenarios: financial markets, real-time capital flows, and autonomous trading AI agents. Thanks to its EVM compatibility, existing Solidity smart contracts can be deployed directly without rewriting. According to Circle, more than 100 applications and more than 100 institutions and corporate ecosystem builders have connected to the network on the first day of launch, covering banks, asset management companies, exchanges, custodians and wallet services.
Circle said in a press release that Arc's testnet opened in October last year and had processed more than 700 million transactions before this week.
Positioned as the "economic operating system" of the Internet
Arc debuted as the "economic operating system of the Internet" and is committed to building an open platform for the global market, realizing real-time value flow, supporting asset tokenization and proxy economic activities. Circle CEO Jeremy Allaire even said: "Arc is the most significant release in Circle history since the birth of USDC."
费用以USDC计价，结算时间不足一秒
Arc区别于其他Layer 1公链的两个关键特征在于Gas费和结算速度。
首先是Gas费机制。网络上的交易手续费以USDC支付，而非价格波动的原生代币。这意味着在链上进行交易的机构可以在发送交易前准确预测成本。阿里尔对此做了一个生动的比喻：强迫公司持有某条链的原生代币才能使用该网络，就像要求Netflix必须购买亚马逊的股票来支付其AWS账单一样荒谬。
其次是结算速度。根据Arc的系统概述，该网络采用确定性终局性（deterministic finality），结算时间在一秒以内且无重组现象。基准测试显示，其最终确认时间低于350毫秒，在20个验证节点的配置下，吞吐量可超过每秒3,000笔交易。
上线即具备完善的市场基础
Arc并非从零开始构建市场生态。Aave、Morpho和Uniswap等协议均在首发时可用，Aero、fomo和Uniswap进一步增加了交易深度。抵押品来源包括Circle的USYC、由Securitize代币化的贝莱德BUIDL，以及Circle发行的与BTC、cbBTC或wBTC按1:1兑换的机构级比特币衍生工具cirBTC。
此外，Circle Payments Network和StableFX已直接集成至链中。StableFX提供全天候的外汇交易服务，覆盖巴西雷亚尔至韩国韩元在内的20多种全额储备稳定币，能够同时结算交易的两方。Binance、Bybit、Gate、Kraken、KuCoin、MEXC、OKX、OSL、Bitso、Bitvavo、Upbit和Wenia等均提供了访问入口。
关于ARC代币与共识机制
Circle本周在美国完成了ARC代币的首发铸造，创建了总计100亿枚代币的初始供应量，成为首家为新Layer 1网络铸造网络代币的上市公司。目前，ARC代币尚未进入交易阶段，也没有具体的上市日期。阿里尔强调，该代币不向公众开放，且Circle明确表示此次铸造并不构成未来上市的承诺。链上费用仍将以USDC结算。
该链采用权威证明（Proof of Authority）共识机制，目前仅在探索于2027年转向权益证明（Proof of Stake）。正是这种经过许可的验证者节点集合，让各大机构感到安心并愿意运行节点。这也引发了一些批评者的质疑：Arc究竟是一条真正的区块链，还是一条带有公开浏览器接口的私有结算通道？
