With the advancement of regulatory developments, the adjustment of monetary policy, and the rise of government bond yields, the crypto asset market has experienced a period of turmoil. Bitcoin faced downward pressure at the beginning of the week, but rebounded strongly before Friday's close, back above $80,000. This recovery has occurred despite obstacles to cryptocurrency legislation and the Federal Reserve's decision to tighten monetary policy.
Senate blocks progress in the Digital Asset Clarification Act
A major development occurred: the Senate failed to pass key procedural obstacles, making it impossible to advance the Digital Asset Market Clarification Act. The proposed legislation aims to establish clearer regulatory guidance for digital currencies in the United States, specifically dividing jurisdiction between the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC).
