Ripple announced on Tuesday that Ripple Prime will provide multi-asset prime brokerage, clearing and financing services to Brevan Howard's funds. Brevan Howard manages approximately $35 billion in assets, and its affiliates have participated in the $500 million strategic investment round that Ripple completed in 2025.
According to a joint announcement by the two companies, the scope of these services covers multiple asset classes and products.
Brevan Howard deepens partnership
Ripple and Brevan Howard said that Ripple's main brokerage division will serve the funds of the approximately US$35 billion alternative investment management company, with business areas spanning traditional and digital markets.
Ripple pointed out in its announcement that this expanded partnership reflects the growing demand from the world's top investment institutions for prime broker services across traditional and digital markets under regulated frameworks.
Based on close ties with previous investments
This agreement builds on Brevan Howard's existing support for Ripple. According to a statement issued by Ripple at the time, Fortress Investment Group and Citadel Securities led Ripple's US$500 million strategic investment in November 2025 valued at US$40 billion, and Brevan Howard was one of the participants.
Alan McGroarty, chief operating officer of Brevan Howard Group, said: "As digital markets become increasingly connected to traditional markets, there is a growing demand for enterprise-level digital asset infrastructure that can provide users with a seamless experience." He added: "Ripple has created a platform with differentiated advantages that we expect will bring greater operational convenience and capital efficiency to our investment team."
The announcement shows that Brevan Howard is an alternative investment management company focusing on global macro strategy and digital assets, with approximately 1,000 employees in offices around the world.
Ripple Prime expands multi-asset business
Ripple Prime is the main brokerage division established by Ripple after completing the US$1.25 billion acquisition of Hidden Road. In August this year, the division launched Delta One business, which provides equity derivatives services such as total income swaps (TRS) for U.S. stocks, indices and digital assets.
Noel Kimmel, President of Ripple Prime, said: "There are few institutions that can provide the next-generation prime brokerage services that sophified investors expect. Brevan Howard's trust in Ripple Prime is a recognition of our strong competitive advantage and multi-asset capabilities."
In addition to master broker services, Ripple also provides payment, custody and treasury management services, and is supported by its stablecoins Ripple USD (RLUSD) and XRP (XRP). The company said it currently holds more than 85 licenses in multiple jurisdictions.
